I KEEP A RECORD OF THE WRECKAGE OF MY LIFE / I GOTTA RECOGNIZE THE WEAPON IN MY MIND / THEY TALK SHIT BUT I LOVE IT EVERY TIME! AND I REALIZE I'M NO SWEET DREAM, BUT I'M A HELL OF A NIGHT!
au/rework of charlie "harlot" morningstar of hazbin hotel. based on my version of hell and with an original timeline that differs from canon. a study in the consequences of biting off more than you can chew, what's left after giving your body and mind for those you want to protect and failing, only to be forget who you used to be. also: head trauma, supernatural brain damage, body horror, rock and roll, helping people in the strangest way possible, being a hell - wide popular rock star, the fucking antichrist, and all it entails. WAS riotchrist but i got shadow banned and impatient so i remade ❤ READ RULES AND CHARACTER SHEET BEFORE INTERACTING.
( broke down and put myself back together again )
i decided that having strict rules was boring, and i want to branch out into the helluva rpc, so i’ve gotten rid of my “won’t follow if” that aren’t related to my accessibility ( being unable to read your blog, your carrd, or google docs ). that said, i will still be very selective with who i follow, and will simply block those who do make me uncomfortable and blacklist urls. i want this blog to be fun and chill!
tl:dr: hell is sentient and loves charlie. it speaks to charlie in their mind, and only to charlie. while searching for a way to stop the exterminations, after being ignored by heaven, they attempt to combine their power with hell’s. it goes bad! the power is too much for their body to handle, and they must either stop the attempt or give up their body to combine their consciousness with hell’s if they want to be powerful enough to take on all of heaven. charlie decides it’s worth it. hell decides it is not. their body is damaged and changed by the experience, so much so that charlie no longer feels like charlie. they change their name to harlot, and start writing songs to get out their feelings. they feel more like the antichrist than ever before, meant to destroy heaven and set the rise of hell. so they sing about it, drink about it, and be wild about it. their reputation turns from the naive, too kind for their own good prince to the ANTICHRIST, a performer rivaling lilith’s influence that parties nightly and overdoses often enough to end up in the hospital. the latter is just an excuse to visit the hospitals they run often.  eventually (second verse) they set up a hotel for those that need it, curious if redemption is even possible, or if anyone would even want to try and be redeemed. most of the occupants are simply demons who need a place to stay.
even if you've read the tldr, i still HIGHLY encourage you to read the full doc about harlot's backstory before interacting with me. i have a lot of hcs mixed into my lore, and this is not charlie.
if you have gotten this far, thanks! let's fucking party!

Hi! Saw the ships post, decided I'd give it a go.
I am straight, but supporting and go by she/her, maybe she/they, 16 year old, junior and taking cosmetology college classes, female standing at 5'7 and I have hazel eyes, really extremely light freckles only on the bridge of my nose, full lips, and an diamond/oval shaped face. I have a resting depressed face, and to some people sometimes I give off a "bad attitude/attitude problem". Usually to guys (from what I have been told) I am cute, or some have said I'm hot. I had my ears pierced but the holes are closed up, so I wear clip on earrings. I have a somewhat hourglass, on the smaller side body, I have been told my wrists and ankles are very small, small boobs, smaller butt, and I'm toned and I have long legs and thighs on the thicker side. I'd say I'm around 130 lbs. I have dirty blonde thick hair that rests on my breasts (couldn't think of a less awkward but as detailed as possible description), I have long outgrown curtain bangs and outgrown layers. My style is unique; I love layering skirts and dresses and sweaters and I love beanies and hats, and I always like to wear my black converse with granny-patterned-type socks. And it tends to be darker colors of clothing that I like. I love necklaces, rings and bracelets. My perfume is Pink Cashmere. I am an Aries and into astrology and crystals and spirituality, the paranormal and Christianity. I also vape. I'm kind of a chill person, but I can be loud/expressive at times. People rub off on me easily, for example, I tend to say things I've heard other people say, if I'm around them enough, for example my classmate says "period slay" and I started to say it. I tend to be the big sister of the friend group and the friend that has everything and ready for any situation type friend. I also make suxcxdal jokes. I like to draw when I have the motivation to. I love music, like can't go a day without listening to it, and I usually go for a walk for about 30 mins a day listening to music and sometimes at college I walk around the campus with one earbud in if I don't have anyone to talk to. I can play a *little* piano, but all I can play is fucking Old Macdonald. My last resort on Netflix to watch is true crime docs, I did have a Jeffrey Dahmer phase, I was extremely interested in his case, I did find him a bit attractive too, but disclaimer, I am NOT glorifying/praising him. He's a horrible person that happens to be a bit attractive. I also am a horror movie fanatic, my favorites have to be the Conjuring movies and the Insidious movies. And, of course, I love AHS. I think I might have ADHD, I get told that sometimes. I do have anxiety as well. I am mentally slow sometimes, and I struggle with focusing at times. Oh also I am a psychic and I can see spirits. I am extremely clingy, and I have mommy and daddy issues. I am very, very, very hxrny, I hate to admit it, I always make dirty jokes if I'm comfortable with someone. I love my guys emo/grunge, doesn't give a shit type mentality, clingy, touchy, possessive, protective, knows his manners, tall, mentally unstable, scraggly looking, veiny hands, big hands, and, yes of course, hxrny.
Tumblr media
That would be me:)
Also thank you if you read my literal book.
Hello my angel! How are you?
Thank you for sending! You are very beautiful and I find you a interesting person. If you want to chat, then lets go hahaha
So at first I thought about Jimmy Darling, because of your personality, but then, when you talked about what you want in a guy everything made sense .
YOUR LOVE STORY WOULD BE WITH.... ‼️
* drum sound * 🥁🥁🥁
KAI ANDERSON
There's no need to mention your physical appearance, because you're perfect and he would love you anyway. I feel like he would love your unique style and since he thinks he is God himself, he would easily become interested in spirituality. You would talk about the meaning of crystals and, although he was sometimes reluctant when it came to the subject, he would listen carefully and make observations. The only thing he would probably joke about was the signs hahaha. If you asked him to make an astral chart, he would laugh in your face, but in a funny way hahaha .
As you are horny, you like possessive, mentally unstable boys, Kai would be the perfect man for you. He wouldn't let anyone touch you without you giving permission. He would always be analyzing his surroundings and worried about you and your day, just to protect you. If you make jokes about suicide, that would be another reason to justify this choice. I see you both laughing about a serious topic, but for some reason you found it funny. Oh another thing, idk your sexual preferences, but good lord, that man would be horny 24/7 he makes very clear in the season Cult that he likes puśsÿ and with you wouldn't be an exception. His big and veiny would grab your wrist and he would tease you endlessly, until he drove you crazy. Hands on the waist, on the back of the head, on the thighs, on the groin, on the neck and in the hair. Also he would use your psychic habilities to his crimes and watch criminal doc with, just for fun or to improve his plans.

'take 'im to th' Doctor, 'n get our new recruit patched up.' The crime boss had said, a fresh cigar lit and resting in one of his talon-like hands and perched between his index and middle finger, bouncing lightly with the aid of his thumb.
the closer the Chaz and Striker get to Doc's workspace, there is a noticeable chill when the shark demon opens the door to the basement-level of the mansion. he mentions something about bacteria and keeping bodies better-preserved in a colder environment, or a similar phrase said by the doctor, but she's totally cool and not a b-rated movie mad scientist or anything. they hear the southern twang before they see her, a tired-looking lizard-folk stepping out from the room with a thick cast wrapped around one arm.
"if you start feelin' any burnin', don't be 'fraid to come see me as soon as possible, a'right?"

Tumblr media
Striker had fucked up. Badly. It was supposed to a mission like any other one. The squad was small. Get in, guard the shark while he planted the explosives, then get out. Just one lone guard had seen them. One armed with a rather deadly hunting rifle with a damn accurate scope. As they'd left the building, the crack of a gunshot had Striker shove Chaz out of the way- only for the cowboy to crumple over a moment later, a bullet shattered in his kneecap.
Tumblr media
He'd shouted. The pain had overwhelmed him, had caught him off guard, had ripped a noise of agony and frustration out of his lungs themselves. He'd managed to crawl away before another, more final shot could be taken, but more guards had been alerted, by the gunshot and by his growled cursing. Thank fuck it hadn't been only a two person mission: two others, mercs like him, had covered them while Chaz carried Striker out to the pick-up spot.
Chaz, to his credit, had kept his shit together, wrapping the cowboy's knee with his own shirt. He'd held Striker's arm throughout, murmuring in a way that was supposed to be comforting. It wasn't Striker's first time being shot, but it never got easier. He hissed in pain, his tail rattling often and harshly. He fades in and out of consciousness. The pain was looming on the horizon: the shock holding it off and at bay. He was back in the dusty fields. Perched on Bombproof, watching everything he'd ever cared about be destroyed in an instant. A stray piece of wood lodged in his knee, a spike, a piece of the wall.
Tumblr media
Striker's eyes are closed, his claws balled in fists the entire ride back. Chaz, not knowing what to do, had taken him right to Crimson, holding the hybrid carefully in a bridal carry. The Doctor. Yeah, right, of course.
Striker slips in and out of consciousness. He was supposed to prove himself. He was supposed to be the best. How could he have been this sloppy? He hisses vaguely, realizing he's being touched. A claw pushes at Chaz's snout as he yammers on about something about bacteria. "Shutthefuckup." He grumbles.
Tumblr media
A stranger's presence. Striker turns his head, squinting at the lizard. His cold heart shivers. He doesn't know where he is. For a second, the stranger looks like his mother, and his tail rattles loudly, a suspicious snarl given. Chaz brings him into the Doctor's office, setting him on a plush table. A brief explanation from the shark- "He's shot. It's bad. I slapped a bad tourniquet on the guy, but I dunno how much he's bled into it."
Tumblr media
There it is. Finally. The pain, in full force. Daybreak. Striker can't move his leg. He can feel every minute bit of it. He grits his teeth, more tears breaking free. One of his hands reaches down, holding his thigh, squeezing as hard as he could, nearly ripping through his jeans. His tail rattles and he hisses: "Painkillers. Please."

Fic review:
Score: 9/10 Overall, it is a simple yet detailed, silly, sweet, entertaining fic. The perfect mix of in charater and fanon.
Would have loved to hear more of the Masters thought process and perhaps 10 getting a little defensive/annoyed at how many people are staring.
"What? Never seen a man wolf down 50 hamburgers before? Thats not a crime"
"Didn't your mother ever teach you not to stare?"
Name: We've tried hungry, we've tried full (nothing seems enough)
Author: @frvmewxrk
Length: ~4,300
Ship: TenSimm
Rating: SFW with sexual jokes. 16+
Prompt:
Take this man to McDonald's and let him devour the entire kitchens' worth of stock to the point they literally run out of stuff to give him. I have a little giggle every time I think about this but I can just see him wolfing all of it down, possibly physically growling at people if they get too close and 10 putting up his hand like "Aye stop. Dont come any closer" but doesn't actually say anything just flashes some phycic paper to make people leave them alone. Bassically just sim being hella food aggressive, 10 taking the pickles off for him, getting him the the kids toys, etc. And if you really want too I think a food coma afterwards would be sweet.
I can't comment on the actual work for some reason, so here's my thoughts and comments:
"That's why we got kicked out of Hot Topic, isn't it?" I laughed out loud at this, and my mom asked me why I was staring at my phone smiling afterward.
Well if thats not the most Master line ive ever read.
“If you don’t shut up at this second, I’m going to grab your intestine straight from your ass and make you eat it all back again.”
Tumblr media
Oh yes, the absolute WORST thing is to let the Master know you fear him. You'll die. You have to act like he's a little baby even if you're terrified, so his ego takes a chill pill.
At least he said thank you 😌
Oooooh THE master black card. Fancy.
Now that's a youtube channel I would watch. "Welcome back to- The Master Devours EVERYTHING. The series. On todays episode- The entire earth."
“Oh yeah don’t worry about it, he can get lot of stuff deep inside his body.” AYOOOO DOC 👀
He can eat FOUR humans actually 😌 And an entire rotisserie chicken. With his bare hands.
He's right. He IS a hungry lad.
I love when people bring up/ incorporate the fact that the Master went from being DEAD, was resurrected for war so he became a child out of fear, grew up afterwards as a child, a normal decent life as Yana, and then turned into Simm. Of course, he likes cartoons. He spent the last two generations as a child/ getting to experience a childhood. It's not "infantizing" him either, so dont even try.
Awwww he's just a little hungry guy <3
You leave him be, hes behaving.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT" that sir- is a pickle. 😂 Ohh this is just the best. Ive laughed twice now out loud and I garentee ill do it again.
I appreciate the fact that the doctor has strict tastebuds, and the master is a trash can.
If they tell him the flurry machine is broken im going to scream-
HOW DID BRO GET MAYO IN HIS HAIR? You're telling me that THIS is who yall voted for?? A mayo hair having hungy boi? Yeah me too.
#votesaxon
Oh my god not the minions 🤣 Is this a refrence to the doctor stealing the moon?
Good gracious hes so demanding ✋️🙄
"Take off my pickles" "give me tea" "give me 10 more little guys" god hes adorable.
The thank you kisses!??? 🥹
He did WHAT!!??
Tumblr media
Plot twist of the century- Congrats. I gasped out loud in the middle of my bedroom- alone.
Love the fact that our girl is haunting the narrative AGAIN. Our beloved Rose Tyler is a menace and is threaded into this mans life so hard.
I actually have something similar in my drafts where 14 starts seeing the word "bad" and "wolf" everywhere, not together but JUST conveniently enough to become anxious and parinoid until he meets Ruby and Ruby says "Oh well you're not so much of a big bad wolf are you?" After mel tells her that he's on edge, so be careful. And 14 just grabs her and is like,"WHO TOLD YOU THAT?! WHERE!? WHERE IS SHE!?" and 15 is like "AYE WOAH! EASY- Easy. She doesn't know... Ruby never say that shit again." And rubys like "... is he a sleeper agent or something?" And 15 says "Well.... It's complicated.."
I love the idea of 14 being off his rocker sometimes <3
Anyway, THANK YOU so much for this fic. My stars is it glorious ✨️💙
can you guys (if this ever reaches anyone) submit any prompts or tropes you want to read about tensimm, or the tenth doctor in general? I will write it for you, I wanna write about something but I have lost all my ideas.

I hear you're a hermitcraft fan, and sorry if this is a dumb question but I've been considering watching them and don't know where to start because it seems like there's a lot going on. any suggestions? thank you ^^
Oh my friend!! Absolutely not a dumb question! Thanks for popping by. <3
There IS a lot going on, but you have two things going for you right now:
a) season 8 just started, so you don't have a lot you'll necessarily want to catch up on and
b) everyone is using a proximity chat mod this season, and living very close together (ironic for a server called Hermitcraft lol) so they all appear in each other's vids a lot -- which means you don't have to watch everyone or even most of them to have a good idea of what's going on.
Now -- that said, where you start and which hermit you watch is a personal preference thing, and I highly rec clicking through a bunch of them just for a few minutes to see who you like best. There is no "best" hermit! They're ALL delightful, and they all do amazing content.
A quick breakdown of some of MY personal faves:
Grian: everyone is going to recommend Grian to you, lol. He's definitely the most popular hermit, and for good reason: the guy makes quality content and he's a fun chaos gremlin to watch. If you like a good variety of hijinks and fun builds, Grian is a good go-to. This season, he's interacting a lot with Mumbo Jumbo, ImpulseSV, PearlescentMoon, and GoodTimesWithScar, so that gets you practically half the server right there XD
ImpulseSV: Impulse is currently one of my top-5 hermits. Major dad vibes, cool redstone projects (he's one of the more technical players, lots of massive farms usually), and he JUST went to full-time content creator (or...well, he's going to. He's 95% of the way committed, but it's a big leap to take for a guy with kids) so I definitely want to send support his way.
If you want good story stuff, check out DocM77 and/or Renthedog this season. I am so not sure where this is all going, but between Doc's incredible technical skills (he's the Doc who's being referenced in the Minecraft menu splash text "What's up, Doc?" He's an actual legend and lost an arm [in character lol] PvP fighting Dinnerbone. THE Dinnerbone. No, I'm not making that up) and Ren's amazing storytelling ability, whatever this mystery is they're working on will be A Real Trip, Baby.
If you're looking for something a little more chill, check out someone like Welsknight (I say "chill"... guy has chill vibes but he also went and got two full netherite suits in like, the first week of the season sooooo... #respectthegrind) or GeminiTay (suuuuuper sweet but also will cut you. Has two modes: preschool teacher and mafia boss. Building genius going hardcore into cottage core right now. Also one of the youngest members of the server) or VintageBeef (Beef is building a massive spaceship this season, which is a blast.)
For more goofy, funny players, check out Iskall (the man is brilliant but also deliberately a derp and his comedic timing is on point), GoodTimesWithScar (disabled gamer representation! also a derp, but this time With Story. And like... insanely beautiful builds), BdoubleO100 (feral cartoon chihuahua man in a midwestern dad's body, makes a lot of wild noises and builds mountains between episodes), or Tango Tek (Tango is also in my top five, I love him, and the man is an absolute redstone genius. Has been inventing iron farms since before iron farms existed, no exaggeration. He built a working (mostly) version of Among Us in survival last season. Insane.)
And last but not least, even if you decide Hermitcraft isn't for you, I highly encourage you to sub to Xisumavoid. He's the server's main admin, and also keeps up with Minecraft updates -- does a lot of snapshot preview testing vids, mythbusting about new update features, and generally is a great person to follow to keep up with Minecraft as a game.
...okay, that's probably WAY more info than you ever wanted, lol. And I left off sooooo many worthy hermits -- check out hermitcraft.com for a full list of all of them with links to their channels. Like I said, I definitely recommend clicking through to everyone for a few minutes, just to see who you kind of vibe with. There's no pressure to keep up with everyone, and if you really start liking what you see but don't want to try and watch a ton of vids every week? Check out the Hermitcraft Recap, run by Pixlriffs and ZloyXP. They're not hermits directly, but they do a weekly rundown of server shenanigans that can be an absolute lifesaver for those of us who like... actually have other things that have to be done. XD
Hope that helps!!

Out of My League [Part 4]
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Single mom!Reader
Word count: ~3.2k
Summary: Why on Earth does everyone think you and Spencer are dating? That’s just ridiculous! Right?
Warning(s): the pining is strong with this one, alcohol consumption, i think there were like one or two swear words?? pretty tame
Author’s Note: OH MY GOD WE’RE BACK AGAIN!!!!! yeah it’s been WAyy too long I’m so sorry guys. ON THE BRIGHT SIDE!!! I’m almost done with the next part so the wait won’t be NEARLY as bad this time around. Ok love yall hope you like it!!!
[Previous Part] [Series Masterlist]
Tumblr media
The play was a lovely way to spend your evening. You could hear Spencer beside you muttering the words along with the actors. The monologues were beautiful coming from the talent on stage, but it was nothing compared to your best friend’s whispers when he thought you couldn’t hear him. You looked straight ahead to the stage, fearing that he’d stop if you indicated that you were listening, but you still felt his eyes on you as he gently uttered, “I’ll follow thee and make a heaven of hell, to die upon the hand I love so well.”
Hearing the words you had read and swooned over countless times before coming from Spencer’s soft voice made a shiver run down your spine.
Spencer Reid did not just give you chills, that did not just happen, you told yourself.
The chill that ran across your body contrasted nicely with heat in your face when you felt his gaze roll over your features. You didn’t always like the feeling when someone’s eyes were on you, but something about it being Spencer’s eyes felt… right. You weren’t uncomfortable, quite the opposite, actually. You found yourself being overjoyed in your seat, but you couldn’t tell yourself why.
Or at least you refused to.
When the show ended, Spencer led you out the door you entered from, and you left the library with a dopey smile on your face as you stepped into the chilly autumn night. The sun had gone down during the play and the streetlamps glowed white against the black sky.
“You hungry?” Spencer asked.
“Starving.”
“It’s a little late for dinner, you think we’ll find a place?”
“It’s only eight o’clock, there’s gotta be somewhere.”
“A McDonald’s maybe?”
You laughed harder than you normally would, but his smile when he made his joke pulled an airy giggle from your lungs that you had no control over.
You wandered for blocks, finding restaurants that were still busy with long waits. A cute ice cream shop caught both your eyes from across the street and you and Spencer thought the same exact thing.
Some things really didn’t change since you were kids.
“You thinking what I’m thinking?”
“Of course I am, Y/N, why are we still on this side of the street?”
You crossed the road together, way too excited for grown adults to be about having ice cream for dinner. There was a line, but it was only a few people long, so you decided to wait for this more than worth it opportunity. As you approached the store, a young family was leaving. The daughter, a young girl in a pink sweater, was so focused on her cake batter flavored cone, she didn’t realize she dropped her stuffed rabbit. Spencer nearly stepped on it, but he picked it up and called after the family. They didn’t hear him, so he went after them and tapped the father on the shoulder.
“Hi, sorry, I think she dropped this.”
“Oh my goodness, Lucy, you dropped your bunny!” The mother shrieked.
“Thank you so much, really,” said Lucy’s dad, “Say thank you, sweetheart.”
“Thank you, sweetheart!” Lucy took the toy from Spencer and smiled.
About ten feet behind the scene, you were losing it. Spencer turned around after the family left and made a face while you laughed your ass off.
“That was the cutest thing I have ever seen!” You giggled as he held the door open for you, “Thanks, sweetheart.”
Spencer cracked a smile and bit his lips, gaze dropping to the floor as he blushed.
Okay, maybe that was the cutest thing you had ever seen.
“I miss when Jamie was that little. He was so cute!”
“He’s still a cute kid!” The line moves forward, you’re next up.
“Well, yeah, of course, he is! But now he knows what words mean and that’s not as funny.”
“Children learn through imitation, so it makes sense he copied things you did and said because you're his mom, he looks up to you.”
“He looks up to you, too, you know.” The family in front of you got their ice cream and left, leaving you to order, “Can I get a sugar cone of cookies and cream?” The girl behind the counter nodded and scooped your ice cream. She then turned to a catatonic Spencer, who was staring at you, cheeks flushed and lips parted. He snapped out of it and ordered a cup of rocky road with extra marshmallow fluff on top.
“What are you doing?” Spencer asked as you pulled out your credit card.
“Paying for our ice cream, what does it look like?”
“No, I’ll pay—” He reached for his pocket, but was too slow.
“Oops, too late,” you said, swiping your card and smirking. The girl behind the counter smiled and waved to you as you left.
“Did you mean that? Jamie looks up to me?”
You turned to look at Spencer, whose eyes were full of stars as he grinned back at you, “Yeah! Of course, he does!”
“Really?”
“Oh, don’t be so surprised, Spencer, you’re like his real-life superhero. You saved his life, genius, he wants to be just like you.”
“He wants to be a profiler?”
“Not necessarily. He thinks you’re a secret agent. Like a spy.”
Spencer chuckled, “And how do you feel about that?”
“Oh, it’s terrifying, I hate it.”
“Yep,” Spencer spooned some ice cream into his mouth, “That’s what I thought.”
“I mean, Jesus, Spence, I get retroactive heart attacks from all the shit you tell me about your cases, I don’t know if I want my kid getting into that. I’d worry even more than I already do.”
“You worry about me?”
“You can’t be serious.”
“What?”
“You’re my best friend, genius! Of course, I worry about you!”
You finished your ice creams on the metro and walked home in comfortable silence. As you turned the corner onto your block, you grinned up at Spencer.
“Thanks for playing tour guide today. I had fun. Haven’t gone out with friends since I moved here.”
“Why not?”
“Don’t have any friends here to go out with.”
His eyebrows jumped as he sputtered out a sentence, “Oh. W-well why don’t you come out with the team and me sometime?”
“No, they’re your friends I wouldn’t wanna intrude—”
“You wouldn't be intruding, you're my friend too.”
“Spence—”
“One of my teammates is having a dinner party tomorrow night. He’s a great cook and would love to meet you.”
You dug around your bag for your keys,  “I don’t know anyone else on the team!”
“You know JJ! And Derek, too. He’s been asking about you.” Spencer’s eyes dropped to his shoes again as your welcome mat became way more interesting than your face.
“Really?” He pursed his lips and nodded. You thought it over for a moment and decided, “Fine. Text me a time and address.”
His eyes snapped back to yours, “No, I-I’ll pick you up.”
“Woah woah woah, you’re gonna drive me around?” You laughed in disbelief, “Sorry, Doc, I know our whole dynamic has changed a bit ‘cuz we’re both grown-ups now, but I’m not sure either of us is quite ready for that.”
His smile finally flashed back across his face, “Come on, I owe you.”
“For what?”
“You bought the ice cream!” His voice was high pitched.
You matched his tone, “You took me to the Shakespeare library!”
“You took me to McDonald’s 106 times in high school! I’m sure the amount of money you spent on my food could buy the whole gift shop!”
Your jaw fell open, “You counted?”
“I can’t help it!”
You rolled your eyes, failing to fight back a grin, “Goodnight, genius.”
He bit his lips and smiled, “Goodnight, Y/N.”
You jam the key in your door and push it open, closing it with your body as you sigh, leaning your head back against it.
“That good, huh?” Said a voice from the living room, causing you to jump.
“Jesus, mom, what are you still doing up?” You sigh, clutching your chest.
“Well, I put Jamie to bed, I figured I’d wait up for you so I can hear about your date!”
“Wh- mom, what are you talking about?”
“With Spencer! How was your date?”
“That wasn’t a date!”
“Really? So you guys just walked around for hours in silence doing nothing?”
“We didn’t just walk around!”
“So what’d you guys do?” She asked, wiggling her eyebrows.
“Oh my god, mom.”
“You’re not denying anything!”
“Mom!”
“You can tell me, it’s just us girls.”
“He took me to the Shakespeare Library! We got ice cream! That’s it! Nothing happened!”
“Shakespeare Library? Ice cream?” her eyebrows darted up so far it was almost like a cartoon character, “Toots, that’s not nothing!”
“It’s nothing. We just saw a play-”
“What play?”
“Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
Your mother closed her book and tossed it next to her on the couch. “Oh! You mean your favorite! Silly me for thinking this was a romantic outing!”
“It wasn’t!”
“Who paid for the ice cream?”
“I did.”
“Did he offer?”
“Yeah, but I didn’t let him.”
Your mother sighed, “You’re telling me it wasn’t a date, but all I’m hearing is that Spencer thought it was.”
“Then why didn’t he make a move?”
“So many reasons! He’s shy! He’s a gentleman! Maybe he thought you weren’t into him.”
“I’m not.”
“Then why are you so upset?”
Is everyone a profiler now? God!
“Mom, it’s getting late, I walked the length of the city today, I’m going to bed. You can stay over if you don’t wanna drive, but I’m getting some sleep.”
“Right, you need to be rested for tomorrow night. Got a dinner party to go to!”
“Were you listening?”
“The window was open just a crack, I may have heard some of the conversation.”
“Jesus…”
“What? You’re meeting his friends already, this is big.”
You groaned, dragging your feet up the stairs to your bedroom, changing out of your clothes, and hopping in the shower before cozying up for bed. Whether or not you wanted to admit your mom was right, you knew she was. And that terrified you.
             (Spencer’s POV)
I rang the doorbell of her house at exactly 6:30, just like I said I would. Seconds later, the door swung open and revealed her smiling face shimmering with her makeup. I took in her outfit, a cute floral dress reaching the tops of her knees. I tried to make sure my eyes didn’t linger on the neckline for too long when I noticed a thin silver chain resting on her collarbone. A small heart-shaped pendant dangled from it.
“Wow.” Was all I could manage, “You look—”
“Totally overdressed, right? Cuz I can dress this down a bit, I just need to change the shoes and throw on a jacket. You know what? I have another dress upstairs I’ll just cha—”
“No, Y/N, you look…” Beautiful, enchanting, stunning, like the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever seen, I thought about saying all of that, but instead, I just said, “Great.”
“Really?”
“Yes.” I tried to say it as sincerely as possible, “Are you ready to go?”
“Yep!” She reached around the door to take a denim jacket from a hook on the wall, throwing it over her shoulders, “Lemme just get my purse—” she glanced around the room and cut herself off with a groan.
“What?”
“I left my bag in my room. Here, come inside, it’s chilly out.” She rushed down the hall to hurry up the stairs to what I’d assume was her bedroom. I stepped across the threshold and into the warm home. There was a faint glow of light from the kitchen, where a child’s laugh bubbled from the room. I followed the sound and found Jamie and Mrs. L/N sitting at the table doing a puzzle.
“Oh, hi, Spencer!” She called.
“Doctor Spencer!” Jamie jumped up from his seat and ran to me, wrapping his arms around my legs.
“Hey, little man!” I ruffled his hair and flashed a grin to Y/N’s mom.
I heard the tapping of shoes descending the stairs behind me, “Okay, got everything, you ready?”
I quickly turned around at the sound of Y/N’s voice and saw her smiling at Jamie beside me.
“Goodnight, Jamie-baby, I’ll see you in the morning, okay? Have fun with grandma,” she cooed as she pressed a kiss to his forehead.
“Goodnight!”
“Bye, buddy!”
“Bye, Doc!”
“Have fun you two, be safe!” Y/N’s mom grinned as she waved us away.
“Oh my god, mom, stop.”
“Okay! Goodnight, my loves!”
“Goodnight!”
Y/N marched out the door and followed the path down to the street, where my car was parked.
“Last chance, Doc, want me to drive instead?”
I passed her to open the passenger side door for her, “Not a chance, I promised.”
“What a gentleman! Now let’s see if we make it there in one piece first.”
The laugh I let out was half-mockery, half-nerves, as I was not the best driver. I had a Ph.D. in engineering and understood more about physics than most people, but that doesn’t mean I knew how to focus well enough to apply that knowledge. When it is literally impossible for me to forget that I have a 1 in 96 chance of dying in a car accident, my hypervigilance does more harm than good.
“So who am I meeting? Who’s on your team?”
My anxieties were somewhat quelled by the sound of her voice, allowing me to pull my thoughts away from the possibility of becoming one of the 20% of fatal car crashes that occur in intersections.
“Well, you already know JJ and Garcia. Hotch, my boss—”
“Tall, dark, handsome? Never smiles?”
I chuckled, “That’s the guy.”
“He seems fun at parties.”
“He’s actually not that bad. Just a bit too serious sometimes.”
“Okay, and who haven’t I met?”
“The host, David Rossi, Emily, you’ll love them.”
“Is Derek coming?”
IQ of 187 and I still don’t think anyone could have explained to me why that upset me as much as it did. It’s not like Y/N was my girlfriend or anything, she was allowed to want Derek, most girls did, so there was no reason for me to be jealous. She wasn’t mine to lose.
“Yeah. He’ll be there.”
We pulled up to Rossi’s mansion a few minutes later, after riding in semi-awkward silence. She waited for me next to her side of the car, not wanting to walk up to the door by herself. I reached out to place a reassuring hand on her shoulder as I drew closer. She gave me a tight-lipped smile before dropping her eyes to the ground between us.
“What’s wrong?”
“I’m nervous, what if they don’t like me.”
“Don’t be ridiculous, what’s not to love?” I didn’t even realize how much I meant those words at the time, so I doubt she understood how serious I was, but her smile softened and her shoulders relaxed slightly under my touch. I led her up to the front porch and rang the doorbell. Shortly after, Garcia opened the door and beamed at the two of us.
“You’re here! Oh my goodness, so nice to see you again!” She pulled Y/N into a hug that she very quickly accepted.
“Hi, Penelope, good to see you too.” She pulled away and grinned at me, the worry mostly drained from her eyes now.
“Come here, boy genius, you get one too!” She wrapped her arms around my waist and my face found its place in her blonde curls. We all went inside and saw the whole team sitting around a coffee table with glasses of wine in their hands. JJ put her glass on the table and got up from her seat on the cushy leather couch to hug Y/N.
“You’re not one of mine, are you?” Rossi sipped his drink and eyed Y/N.
“Um, this is Y/N, my uh, my friend.” I stammered.
“Ah! You’re the doctor’s little lady friend I’ve heard so much about!” Rossi put his scotch down on the table and crossed the room to kiss her on both cheeks, “Lovely to meet you, bella, I’m—”
“David Rossi. Yes, Spencer’s told me about you. Nice to meet you,” she grinned, shaking his hand.
“Ah,” he scoffed, “call me Dave.”
“What? No fair!” Emily piped up, taking a big sip of wine, “You just met her and she gets ‘Dave’ privileges? I’ve worked with you for months!”
“Emily, look me in the eyes and try to call me Dave.” She looked at him and opened her mouth like she was about to say something, but she just took another sip while JJ and Morgan laughed at her.
Hotch flashed a rare smile to Y/N, “Good to see you again.”
“Yes! Glad it’s under better circumstances, Agent Hotchner.”
“Me too. And please,” he extended a hand to her, “call me Aaron.”
This time it was Morgan who spoke up, “No way! Only Rossi calls you by your first name!”
“And me,” Emily mumbled.
“And now Y/N, too.”
“I’m honored, Aaron.”
Looking at her face now all remaining anxiety had just about vanished. I told her she had nothing to worry about, and now she was finally listening to me. Rossi called us all to the kitchen where he told us to grab a plate so he could serve us before we sat down at the table. He gave us each a plate of his famous spaghetti carbonara before taking his seat at the head of the table. The team all chatted about their lives, as we ate. Hotch showed Y/N pictures of Jack on his phone, Emily probed JJ about Will, Morgan, and Rossi poked fun at me for bringing Y/N, but I just rolled my eyes and tried to ignore them. Plates were cleaned, stories were told, and wine bottles were emptied. Mostly by Emily and Y/N.
JJ was the one to try to cut them off, “Don’t you have to drive this one home?” She gestured to me.
She put her hands up defensively, “He picked me up.”
“Reid, you hate driving! Garcia pointed out, prompting Morgan to spare a knowing glance to Rossi.
“You do?”
“I don’t hate it, I just prefer not to.” I was a profiler, but that didn’t mean I was a good liar.
“Spence, I offered to drive you.”
I shrugged, “I didn’t mind.”
Her eyes lingered on me for another moment before taking another sip of wine and resuming her conversation with Emily. I knew they’d get along. Towards the end of the night, Rossi proposed a toast.
“To familia.”
Y/N smiled, staying quiet.
“Oh, come on now, you too, bella.” He raised his glass to her and clinked the crystal, “You’re stuck with us now, get over it.”
“I’m not complaining, Dave.” Her words were to Rossi, but she never stopped looking at me. Probably just had a bit too much to drink.
Right?

'Ello i am totally not procrastinating
About other hermits having op, apparently most of them have it back :D, at least i know Tango and Scar had in this moment, i m not awere of the complete list.
Tango have to help Doc to restart the server for his octospawner, cause they cant contact Xisuma and Tango was the only with admin powers online in that moment. And i remember saw Scar have it on one of his recent stream.
When i said in my analysis that apparently they lost that status it was because in one of tango's stream building among us, he hasnt have it anymore and he said that finally he got it removed and wasnt sure why he have it in first place lol.
Tango, dear, it is because you are on the server a lot and our dear x needs to sleep. It was the same reason why someone so oblivious as Scar have op too.
In my own head canon they can have op is because they have a bunch of magic that they can access to Gods Power unlike humans and the reason cause one person can retrict other players to have access to op even if they had magic its because the owner of the world/server has a direct connection with the world/server that any other player have (this is my way of doing the admin panel that all of the server owners have nightmares when something in the server failed, oh god i hate so much when that happend)
I was thinking that maybe in Canon reload au something like that happend and thats why players like Iskall who is an admin havent op in hermitcraft, because he is human but someone so oblivious as Scar have it and since Xisuma trust his hermits hasn't remove it from them and are glad to have extra help.
I remembered that the IPA developed technology to give op to give other people, so thats is how humans can access to something thats is natural for mobs, lumens and voidwalkers since they get this ability direct from the Watchers.
Maybe the Watchers and the voidwalkers have the status of superadmin (if a remember correctly this is the name of have access to the server panel) the lumens and the mobs has just the admin aka op commands and the humans simple doesn't have any.
Why big worlds like were some hermits come doesn't have this ability? Maybe is a selfdefence of the world to avoid being destroyed for its habitants.
Possible reason of why hermits like Doc, Cleo and TFC doesn't have op? For Doc it maybe be because he lost his connection with magic after almost die and lost a big part of his body. Cleo was human, even if she is now a zombie. For TFC, maybe when a player has a lot of experience and control over they magic, they can gave up of this ability and TFC is old and he doesnt want that burden, he only wants to rest and chill out while hes watch over his grandsons, i mean this young people.
And Etho? Well, is Etho we really dont know anything about him ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Oohhhh thank you for the clarification! And I like your headcanon! Admins being connected to the world/server is super cool :0
(But also I often see it used for angst… which I won’t complain about X3)
For canon reloaded au it isn’t as much as a mystical thing as a title thing lol.
Xisuma has the access to the panels (op) right now since he is right now THE administrator and in technicality all other Hermits are Operators since all of them have admin training (some got further into admin training than others but they are all administrators)
So if something where to happen to X, admin panels (op) goes to Joe since he is the Operator with highest rank, then to Tango, then to Cub and so on and so forth.
Xisuma CAN operate WITHOUT panels because he is a Voidwalker… the (op) panels exist so people can have world editing powers like a Voidwalker but in theory Xisuma could do a lot of the things by himself that some people can only achieve by having the admin panel.
Only problem is X is no longer a Voidwalker at full strenght so for his own health he sticks with using the technology and also because admin panels not only means op powers but also access to info!
We saw Dream using his own administrator panels to review how his world was doing and thats how he initially comes across the glitch of something entering DSMP through the atmosphere, he also used the panels to check on Fundy’s health when he assumed he was dead and also the panels gave him instant access to Tubbo’s info to determine he was most likely the one playing tricks on him.
Admin panels are technology bestowed to the person (s) currently functioning as the administrators of the world so they may keep their world monitored and safe and they can hand the title to another person that has admin training and this person will then be administrator.
There are instances where an operator (aka a backup administrator) can go “yo’ i need op!” And the admin can hand it to them.
Of course this is super silly in Hermitcraft since all of them are qualified for the job and all of them are operators… and this is one weird setup for a world, like this often doesn’t happen.
Instead it makes more sense in Dream SMP where Dream is the Administrator and George and Callahan work as Operators meaning all three of them are trained as admins but Dream is currently holding the title of administrator (basically he is the leader) and George and Callahan are his backups… no one else in DreamSMP is trained as an admin (Tubbo didn’t finish) or has access (Fundy is trained as an admin but he was never made operator so there was no chance of him earning the panels in case of emergency)
Hope this made sense? If not I am always happy to answer more questions

reid’s anatomy
Tumblr media
summary: spencer gets a gunshot wound while working in the field and gets transported to the hospital you work in as a 4th year resident.
word count: 2,325                                                                                             reading time aprox: 9 mins
masterlist
Gurneys, lights, flying commands, and patients. The trauma room was my favorite place to be, other than the OR of course, it felt like a second home. But nothing compared to the home I had when I laid in Spencer’s arms.
I was currently working in the trauma room, triaging the patients as I did my rounds. I dismissed a few individuals that had minor injuries, while discovering various accidents that required solutions as small as stitching up a patient to booking an OR for an emergent surgery.
“Honey can you move your toes for me please?”
In front of me lay my latest patient, a 5 year old boy who had been pushed off of a swing set and had happened to land on his ankle. His cheeks were painted red from the crying he had previously done, a thumb cemented into his mouth as he continued to suck on it for comfort. His mother sat beside him, panic evident in her eyes, although she kept an amiable expression to reassure her son on his well being.
The boy shook his head frantically, earning a break in composure from the mother. She reached out and folded her hand over her son’s and held on tight to it, with a tight-lipped smile on her face.
“You’re going to be okay Timothee, mommy’s right here sweetie”. The mother squeezed her son’s hands continuously, looking to me for answers.
“Your son- well Timothee here seems to have sprained his ankle” I explained in layman's terms, lifting up the boys ankle to locate where the injury occurred.  “The issue here is that he seems to have an eversion ankle sprain and has fractured his deltoid ligament, which is more uncommon than a inversion ankle sprain, since the deltoid ligament is close to impossible to fracture”.
As I finished my description, the mother returned her attention to her son, massaging his head to console him. “We-well it’s just a sprained ankle right? It can heal. My husband has had multiple sprained ankles from how much of a klutz he is” She joked in attempt to lighten the mood. Despite her attempts, there was more news to deliver.
“I wish it was much more simpler than that” I sighed, motioning for the on-call nurse to come over. “Due to Timothee’s young age, my biggest concerns are the development of his bones, considering the fracture he had suffered and that the nerves responsible for motor skills in his legs might have been severed. In most adult cases, the individual is able to recover because the durability of the bone had been fully realized from age. But, Timothee here is at risk of deformation of his osseous matter” I doefully confessed, a small pit forming in my stomach while delivering his diagnosis.
As the mother’s face dropped, I turned to the nurse telling her to call Neuro and Peds, then asked her to file the paperwork. I looked back at the small family with a sigh, placing his chart at the end of the bed.
It was moments like these that make me envision the life I’m going to have with Spencer if we ever decided to have children together. Despite our young age, I couldn’t help up configure an idealistic future than only composed of me, Spencer, and 2 or 3 little children running around us in glee.
“The nurse will be back with the pape-”
I was cut off by sirens and a magnitude of shrilling voices shouting commands. These were the indications of an incoming trauma. I turned around to peak for a second with the possibility of wanting to check on another case, but the interns and 2nd year residents had beat me to it.
My focus remained on the child in front of me, checking his vitals from time to time, while eavesdropping on the commotion behind me.
“We’ve got a caucasian ma...federal...with a GSW in the thoracic cavity, with intercostal tears”. Most of the sentence was muffled by the loud wheels of the crash cart, residents fumbling around, and the attendings yelling orders at the scene. I turned around to witness the chaotic scene, only to be meet with heads full of hair and some that didn’t actually have hair at all.
Geez, I wouldn’t want to be the guy with the GSW to his chest
In emergent surgery, GSW’s were the most lethal in the clinic as most of the time the patient is either too late or the bullet had caused multiple complications in the patient, causing distress in the body. The tricky thing about GSWs were that they were different every time, it was almost always a different procedure depending on the location.
I nodded goodbye to the perturbed mother, earning a tight lipped smile and a nod back. I turned to walk towards the nurses station when suddenly I was paged to trauma room 3. I rushed over to the area, sanitizing my hands before walking in. A privacy drape hung from the lower abdomen of the individual, with nurses and residents scrambling to keep his vitals stabilized.
I faced the trauma nurse as she explained the patients situation. “We’ve got a caucasian male, seems to be 25-35 with a GSW in his thoracic cavity with no exit wound, the bullet is possibly lodged in the pericardial cavity” She spoke in haste.
“Push 10 of Norepinephrine and call Cardio” I stressed, rushing out of the room to find another resident to scrub into the surgery as I wasn’t finished with my rounds yet.
On my way around the nurse’s desk I noticed a familiar face that sat glum and slumped over in his chair, well it was more like a familiar group of faces. My steps slowed in order to get a better view to confirm my suspicions, then shuffled over to determine what the occasion was.
“Hey Morgan-hey guys” I furrowed my eyebrows at the group, my worry peaked at the numerous melancholy expression that they wore on their faces. Despite my observations, there was one face I noticed was missing from the ensemble.
Spencer.
A chill ran up my arm, which was usually an indication of something wrong. In spite of the unfavorable pit in my stomach, I was at my workplace where everything usually puts me on edge, so I pushed it aside.
“Where’s Spenc-”
My words faded out into an uncomfortable silence when Morgan lifted his head to face me and in his eyes were the deepest of browns, anguish pooled in his irises, similar to the look I gave to the mother of the patient I was treating previously. I glanced at the rest of the team, who wore a identical stares.
My stomach had churned and twisted into knots. The chill that had ran up my arm traveled to my legs, all the way to the tips of my toes. Everything felt like it was moving in slow motion, I could feel my heart still and my fingers twitch. The overhead lights of the clinic became overwhelmingly bright and a nauseating sensation began crawling up my throat.
“Y/N-” Morgan began as I stared at him wide-eyed. He grabbed one of my hands and wrapped it in between his rough and sweaty palms, but I tensed in the midst of it, while adrenaline ran up my veins.
“Reid, he’s...we-we were workin- I...he’s”
Despite his attempts at an explanation, he wasn’t able to complete any of his phrases as I yanked my hand out of his grasp and bolted towards the trauma room. I heard my name being called in the background, although it became a voice of a phantom as my surroundings became impaired with the sounds of my heartbeat, the loud thuds my feet made as I raced towards the room, and the anxious thoughts that flooded my mind.
I pushed into the room, only to see a bed was missing. I bee lined to where the residents were, pivoting around the various carts that decorated the room. “Where’s that patient with the GSW in his thoracic cavity? What resident was assigned on his case? What was his name?”. The words spewed out of my lips like a waterfall, earning alarmed looks from the residents.
“Um, he was transported to OR 3″ One of them explained with naive looks on their faces.
“Yeah, they’re in surgery right now with Dr. Burke and Dr. Montgomery” Another one added.
“What’s the patient’s name? Do you remember?” I responded, prying them of all the information they knew. The residents peered at each other dumbfoundedly, looking at each other for answers as if they were taking their MLE exams again.
“Dr. Y/L/N, no offense but you’re not on this case” One of the residents added with a condescending voice.
“Dr. Mallory, if you don’t answer me in the matter of 10 seconds, I swear I will go to your senior resident and have you be doing scut for the rest of your medical career” I retorted. Fear was evident in all their eyes, I knew my eyes were brimming with multiple emotions, condensing into nothing but a fiery and aggressive tone.
“Sp-spencer Reid, Ma’am” A quiet voice spoke up in the group. I nodded a small thank you to the individual and ran to the OR where they held Spencer.
When I got into the prep room, I grabbed a face mask and entered the OR, witnessing a man’s body, the love of my life under heavy anesthesia and tubes wired up to his chest. Before I could speak, the attending spoke up and questioned me of my presence.
“I-i was wondering if I could scrub in sir” I replied. “I-I, um, heard that there was in upc...incoming trauma for a GSW and I was wondering if I could scrub in” I repeated.
“You already said that Dr. Y/L/N”
“I understand sir, but I-”
The attending than turned around exposing the sight of Spencer’s chest being retracted open. My entire body ached at the sight, the lifelessness of his body creating an image in my head that couldn’t compare to the images Spencer would see of his victims. I cringed and turned away, tears threatening to spill from my eyes, but I knew I couldn’t let myself go, especially if I wanted to be included in Spencer’s operation.
“Dr. Y/L/N, with all respect, I know you’re one of the best residents we have in this hospital and I know you’re a phenomenal doctor” The attending explained, letting one of the other senior residents take over for a moment. “But, I also know who this is laying on my table. For this case, you’re not his doctor, you’re family, and I need you to trust that I am able to do my job, as you do yours” He concluded, signaling to one of the nurses to take me out of the OR.
I nodded hesitantly, following the nurse out of the room, my eyes still locked on the individual that lay on the table. After the nurse had went back inside, I sat on the ground with my hands on my lap, staring at the abyss of the hallway.
Our future depends on if a single man can maneuver his scalpel with enough wisdom and efficiency. The father of my future children lay on the cold metal table, where I used to find comfort and power in when saving someone else’s loved one. Who knew there would be a time where the roles were switched.
Who knew that no matter how many years you’ve trained, how many books you’ve read, and the degrees you’ve obtained to save people’s lives, you could still be powerless against what life throws at you. The worst part is the irony that comes with tragedies. I spent a quarter of my life learning how to save people, yet I sit here purposeless when someone that I live for is struggling to stay alive. How malicious is that.
Tears began streaming down my cheeks, although my expression hasn’t changed. The wetness that enveloped half of my face was the only thing that reminded me of the reality that I was in, keeping my consciousness grounded momentarily.
I swear my heart pauses, everytime I hear a change in the monitor that indicated Spencer’s vitals or a command that the attending would spew out to the helping resident. I was completely fixated on everything that was happening in the room adjacent to me, disregarding the entire atmosphere that lay in my vision.
It wasn’t until large legs halted in front of where I was crouched down. I didn’t bother looking up as my thoughts clouded my sensibility. The figure then sat down to my level, I could feel the individual’s eyes boring at my blank visage. I felt a large arm pull me closer to the individual, only this time I realized it was Morgan who had come to console me.
Awaiting a pursuance of some sort of speech that’s supposed to bring me clarity or amenity. But to my dismay, only the loud presence of silence filled the gap of our exchange. That’s when my emotions began to seep into my skin, filling my heart with heavy matter, making it close to impossible to keep up my facade.
A whimper escaped my lips while I laid on Morgan’s shoulder for the time being, only for the rest of my somber to follow. I cried in defeat, holding onto the clutches of Morgan’s shirt as he gripped onto the back of my head, massaging it in the process.
I felt droplets hit the top of my head and a wetness forming rapidly. Weak sniffles emitted from the man above me, betraying his collected composure. We both sat here together with heavy hearts, waiting for what seemed like an eternity.
We both sat in silence waiting to see if his colleague was alive and if my everything was still breathing.

The Boss
Bodyguard!Kuroo Tetsuro x Reader Mafia AU
Tumblr media
Summary: The Violet Syndicate is plunged into chaos when the head of the family is killed in a mysterious accident. Amidst the whirlwind of suspicion and deception that follows this tragedy, Kuroo Tetsuro only knows one thing: Keep her safe.
Wordcount: 10k... my longest one ever lmaooo
Warnings: Mentions of death, violence, blood, SMUT
Author’s Note: Here it is, 1 of 6 of the oneshots I’ve written to celebrate my 1k follower milestone! Thank you all so much for all your support, and I hope you enjoy!
Kuroo Tetsuro was no fool.
He was sure the rest of the family was aware of this, after all he had been a part of it for 5 years after The Violet Syndicate acquired property, guns, money and men when they branched out to Tokyo.
But part of the syndicate having been formed in Miyagi meant the family factions based there were typically weary of those from the Tokyo based factions. It didn’t mean trouble for Kuroo and the rest of the Tokyo faction at the time of the acquisition, and things had run smoothly for the past five years.
All that of course came to an end when Akaashi, the Tokyo faction’s overseer, received a call, informing him that the head of the family had been in an accident.
Kuroo, being a bodyguard for the boss whenever he had business in Tokyo, of course insisted on accompanying Akaashi on the long trip to Miyagi to represent the Tokyo faction. But it was less out of obligation for his employer and more out of concern for his pregnant wife.
Again. Kuroo Tetsuro was no fool.
He knew if some type of power-grab was being made for the seat at the head of the family, she and her unborn child would be targets as well. Though the bodyguards from the Miyagi faction were reliable, he knew that the boss would always come before the outsider he married.
That night was by far one of the longest nights of Kuroo’s life. He listened for hours on end as Akaashi and Bokuto argued with Semi and Daichi on whether or not an investigation into the accident was necessary.
Not once did he leave his post further down the hall, guarding (Y/n)’s hospital room. It gave him some comfort knowing he wouldn’t have to rely on someone from the other faction to keep her safe.
But that comfort could only do so much as one of the doctors who was operating on the boss left his room. Kuroo didn’t have to be within earshot to know what had happened. The sullen look on the doc’s face said it all.
He wanted to push the doctor away when he approached (Y/n)’s room. Wanted to send him on his way and tell her the news himself. But the cold look Akaashi sent him, similar to the one he received earlier when he attempted to see if (Y/n) was awake, forced Kuroo to step aside and let the doctor in.
Kuroo felt his heart drop into the pit of his stomach and his hands clenched into fists as a cry of despair echoed out past the door and into the silent hallway. The violent and pained howling only grew louder as the doctor retreated from the room.
He wanted more than anything to run in and hold her close. Let her cry into his shoulder, claw at his shirt and scream until her voice gave out and her throat was raw. Anything to let her know she wasn’t alone. But a simple glance at his superior kept him cemented in place.
For now all he could do was listen as she wailed into the night.
-----------------------------------------------------------
“Is that what you’re wearing?”
The familiar voice pulled Kuroo out of his thoughts, forcing his gaze to shift from his dress shoes to Akaashi. The superior raised an eyebrow at the taller man.
“I had to get dressed too quickly... I didn’t think it looked that bad.” Kuroo murmured, the lack of sleep he was currently suffering from evident in his voice.
Akaashi’s steely gaze softened, only for a moment, as he glanced from the bodyguard to the door he was leaning beside. “You know you can take some time to get some sleep, eat a proper meal... put on something more formal. The Miyagi guards can keep watch over her just fine-”
“I’m never leaving her with those fucking bumpkins again.” Kuroo snapped, a sudden rush of anger passing through his veins at the mere suggestion. He quickly checked himself, offering Akaashi an apologetic look.
“I understand that you’re weary of their job performance... especially after the accident... But we’re all still family, even if Ushijima is dead... And I expect you to act like it.” Akaashi hissed.
Kuroo shifted his gaze back to his feet that were now shuffling in discomfort. “I can’t just leave her with them... you know they’ve never liked her, this is the perfect excuse to boot her out of the organization.”
“She’ll have nothing to do with the organization or its affairs unless Ushijima's will states otherwise.” Akaashi countered. “If she’s lucky she’ll be able to move back to Tokyo and live off a monthly stipend from the syndicate. Hell, maybe she could get remarried, have a family of her own...”
“That’d be nice... wouldn’t it?” Kuroo inquired, eyes still refusing to meet Akaashi’s.
“It would...” Akaashi slowly nodded, his voice becoming hushed as he heard the familiar click of (Y/n)’s heels approaching the bedroom door. “There’s nothing left tying her to this family now...”
Kuroo internally flinched at the implication behind Akaashi’s words, but those thoughts were cut short as the bedroom door opened, revealing the woman they had been discussing.
She was clad in all black clothing that her once swollen belly hadn’t allowed her to wear just a couple weeks prior. Nothing too revealing or tight of course, this was a funeral after all.
(Y/n) adjusted the black glasses resting on the bridge of her nose, hoping to keep her puffy and tired eyes hidden.
“M’am,” Akaashi addressed her, bowing slightly before straightening his posture. “The car’s out front waiting for you.”
(Y/n) gave him a curt nod in response before walking past him and down the nearby staircase with the two men hot on her tail. The three were greeted at the foot of the staircase by Semi, who quickly wrapped an arm around (Y/n)’s shoulders as he gave her a comforting smile.
“Thank you so much, gentleman. I think my men and I can take it from here-”
“I see no harm in them accompanying me on the ride to the cemetery, Semi.” (Y/n) spoke up, her voice meek but still loud enough for Kuroo and Akaashi to hear despite the distance Semi had attempted to put between them.
His smile faltered, but he nodded in understanding before continuing on his way to the car with the others.
The ride to the cemetery involved more talking than Kuroo would have preferred. He could tell by the look on (Y/n)’s face that she was tired of hearing Akaashi and Semi arguing over the accident. He couldn’t say he blamed her. If he had to sit and relive the accident that took his spouse and his baby over and over again he wouldn’t be in the best headspace either.
But, much to Kuroo’s sadness, (Y/n) only stayed quiet and let them continue their argument all the way to the burial.
He allowed Semi to help her out of the car before taking her himself and helping her walk to the spot where the family had already been gathering. Kuroo ignored the looks they both received, his hold on (Y/n) tightening as they got closer to the group.
She sat in the front row of foldable chairs, Kuroo at her left and Semi at her right. (Y/n) had already burst into a fit of sobs on the walk there, now she was trying to stifle her cries as she stared at the wooden box suspended above the 6 foot deep hole in the ground.
Kuroo couldn’t help but shoot a sideways glance at Semi as he rested one hand on the grieving widow’s knee while the other plucked a tissue from a nearby tissue box and held it out to her. She quickly snatched it from him and made no move to remove his hand despite the way her body visibly tensed at his touch.
Semi was Ushijima’s consigliere, his right hand man. The person Ushijima trusted most with (Y/n)’s wellbeing before and after his death. So why did the look the silver-haired man gave (Y/n) send a chill down Kuroo’s spine?
-----------------------------------------------------------
(Y/n) sat quietly on her own in the foyer of the large mansion as the rest of the family from the syndicate chattered and socialized. She was used to the house being full like this, Ushijima usually had large group meetings like this when he had business to attend to.
She usually kept to herself, staying in their bedroom or going for a walk in the garden whenever the family was there. Now she was in the thick of all this commotion, her husband in the ground.
A glass of whiskey held in her face pulled her back into the present. She glanced up and was met with a small smile from Kuroo.
“Neat. Like you like it...” he mumbled, swirling the contents of the small glass before she took it.
She thanked him quietly, adjusting her sunglasses once more before taking a sip. The smaller woman winced at the burn, earning a soft chuckle from Kuroo as he sat beside her.
“Never something you get used to, huh?” he mumbled, smiling softly as she shook her head in response.
“Not at all...” she mused before taking another sip.
He caught a glimpse of a hint of a smile playing on her lips, and as she opened her mouth to speak she was interrupted by Semi.
“We’re ready to begin the reading of the will... M’am.” Semi announced, casting a glance towards (Y/n) that had her tensing in her seat. He then looked to Goshiki, then Tenou, then Shirabu, then Reon. Each of the men set aside their glasses and made their way up the stairs to the study where Ushijima’s and (Y/n)’s attorney had set up shop to read through the will.
Kuroo lightly nudged (Y/n)’s shoulder when she didn’t make a move to stand.
“I don’t want to go up there... I’m sure Semi will take care of everything and-”
“M’am, you need to be up there... I’m sure Semi would make sure you’re taken care of, but you need to make sure you get what Ushijima left to you.” Kuroo’s tone was firm but gentle. “This is the last bit of syndicate business you’ll ever have to deal with...”
(Y/n) nodded slightly before throwing back the last of her whiskey. She grunted, handed the empty glass to Kuroo, then reluctantly stood up and followed Semi up the stairs.
It felt like about 15 minutes had passed when the sound of the study door slamming open, silencing the mafiosos downstairs. The aura in the room drastically shifted as Goshiki stormed down the stairs and out of the front door of the mansion, Tendou hot on his heels.
All eyes turned to Reon and Shirabu, both sporting expressions of shock as they slowly left the study and joined the others downstairs.
Semi was next. He was trying and failing to mask the emotions running through his head as he approached Kuroo, Akaashi and Bokuto, who had gathered in one corner of the room away from the members of the Miyagi faction.
“The boss would like to meet us in the office in five minutes...” he said, silver-haired man’s tone hushed.
Akaashi raised an eyebrow at that. “The boss?”
As if on cue, the familiar sound of (Y/n)’s heels clicking echoed downstairs, followed by the attorney’s heavy footsteps. No one was subtle about clambering to the stairs to peek and see what was going on.
(Y/n) had slowly made her way past the stairwell, ignoring the looks she received when she stopped at the door of the study. Her grip on the sunglasses in her hands was enough to snap them in half.
She reached a hand out to the doorknob before visibly hesitating. She took a deep breath before firmly grabbing the knob, turning it, and stepping into the office.
(Y/n) approached the leather chair that sat behind the large mahogany desk towards the back of the room. She trailed her fingers over the arm of the chair, eyes glued to the space her husband once occupied. Some of his documents were scattered around the desk from the last time he had been there. The room as a whole had been untouched since the accident.
With another deep breath, she turned her back to the floor-to-ceiling length windows that spanned the entire back wall of the study and sat in the chair. She remained stiff for a moment before slowly easing into the large piece of furniture.
The meeting that followed was as standard as things could be right now. (Y/n), mainly asking Semi and Akaashi a lot of questions with Kuroo and Bokuto both wondering why they had been asked to sit in on the meeting.
Eventually, (Y/n) sent Semi away, asking him to get to work on informing their ‘business partners’ on the change in leadership the syndicate was experiencing. The second he left the room, (Y/n)’s calm, cool exterior went out the window as she deflated and held her head in her hands.
“What the fuck, man! That damn idiot! I hate this!” she exclaimed, causing the three men in the room to practically jump out of their skin. This had to be the loudest any of them had ever heard her speak.
“Um... Semi, m’am?” Bokuto asked, tilting his head in confusion.
“No! Toshi! That asshole, why did he do this to me?! He knew Goshiki wanted the position but he left it to me! This is so him! Throwing me to the fucking wolves then fucking leaving me to fucking deal with it all fucking fuck fuck!”
Kuroo’s eyes shifted uncomfortably between Akaashi and Bokuto, who looked just as shaken up by the rambling as he was.
(Y/n) ended the mini rant, exhaling deeply and slumping back into the chair. “Fuck my life!”
The three men remained quiet for a good minute until Akaashi cleared his throat and spoke up.
“Well maybe he wanted you to learn the business and take care of yourself rather than have to rely on a stipend from the syndicate-”
“I already know all there is to know, Toshi has been teaching me everything about the business since we got married. I just didn’t think he’d ever give it to me, especially when there’s Goshiki or Semi.” (Y/n) explained, eyes narrowed at a framed photo of her and Wakatoshi at the corner of his desk before flipping it face down.
“Wait what? Then what was all that crap we sat through these past 15 minutes?” Kuroo asked, raising an eyebrow at the woman fuming behind the desk.
“I don’t need Semi catching on, he’s pissed enough as it is!” she sighed exasperatedly.
Silence bloomed between the group until a deep chuckle erupted from the area Kuroo was occupying. (Y/n) cocked an eyebrow at him, jaw tightening as he erupted into a full on fit of laughter.
He soon composed himself before running a hand through his hair and holding his head. “So I suppose this means we may have a war on our hands then? You don’t even trust your own consigliere, or your husband’s most trusted men... This will be fun.”
“N-now now let’s not get too hasty,” Akaashi sputtered, “We don’t know anything about what happened that night, it would be unfair to draw baseless conclusions about who was involved-”
“Exactly,” (Y/n) interrupted, shifting her steel gaze from Kuroo to Akaashi. “Which is why you’re going to look into what happened that night.”
Akaashi seemed taken aback by this, something his new employer quickly picked up on.
“I need someone trustworthy to head this investigation, and I need them to do it quickly and quietly. Can I trust you with this?” She asked.
Akaashi quickly regained his composure and nodded, “Of course, m’am.”
“Wait a minute wait a minute, if there’s a possibility our boss is in danger shouldn’t we get her out of this house?” Bokuto spoke up, gaining the attention of the other three. “We don’t know where Daichi and his faction’s loyalties lie, but we know for a fact Ushijima’s old crew side with Goshiki’s non-existent claim over the business... And we’re in their territory. They could easily overtake us and get to (Y/n) if they wanted to.”
Akaashi seemed to ponder this for a moment before looking from Bokuto to Kuroo. “Would we be able to extract her and get her to the Tokyo residence tonight?”
“We could but it would be suspicious as hell.” Kuroo replied, scratching at the back of his head.
“We stay in Miyagi for as long as we safely can.” (Y/n) spoke up, tone firm. “There is work to be done here anyway... Once that work is finished we can leave to the Tokyo residence without drawing any attention to us.”
She cast her eyes back to Kuroo. “In the meantime, I want Kenma on surveillance for this residence. As well as all your men keeping an eye on the rest of the Miyagi faction... And you don’t leave my side until we’re back in Tokyo. Understood?”
Kuroo didn’t miss the way her voice wavered at that list bit. He gave her a curt nod, “Of course, m’am...”
(Y/n) seemed to breathe a sigh of relief at that, her eyes locked with his for a moment until he forced them away. They seemed to linger over her wedding ring as she continued speaking. “Bokuto. You’re not to leave Akaashi’s side over the course of his investigation... Nobody goes anywhere alone. I don’t want to take any risks.”
“Yes m’am. Anything else?” Bokuto asked, earning a small head-shake in response.
“No...” (Y/n) mumbled before catching herself and speaking in her firm tone once again. “No, you’re both dismissed.”
Kuroo half expected (Y/n) to deflate or collapse onto the desk once Bokuto and Akaashi left the room, closing the door to the office behind them. To his surprise, and glee, she stayed sitting straight, this new aura of authority never leaving her once the other men had left.
It was a good look on her. This power. She had always been so meek, reserved, in the background while her husband was in the spotlight. Now she took his place at center stage and he was captivated.
He hadn’t realized he had been smiling until (Y/n) pointed it out, her own half-amused expression painting her features. “What’s that smile for...?”
Kuroo shook his head slightly, fingers absentmindedly fiddling with the buttons on the sleeve of his button-up shirt. “Just thinking of how much things have changed so quickly... namely you.”
(Y/n) quirked an eyebrow at this, urging him to elaborate before standing to pour herself a drink from the whiskey decanter that sat on the nearby bookshelf. His amber eyes watched her closely as she filled a second glass, presumably for him.
“I remember the day you and Ushijima were married... it was the first time we met.” He trailed off, searching (Y/n)’s eyes as she stood before him and handed him the glass. “You were so young... Sure we were the same age, but you just seemed so much younger... maybe it was your innocence.
You had these doe eyes that told everyone everything they needed to know: You had no idea what you were getting yourself into... Sometimes I wonder if Ushijima ever told you before the wedding or not, but I know he wasn’t the kind of man to keep something so important from his bride... Whatever the case was, you were trembling at that altar. And now here you are... All his power and you’re taking to it naturally... no more doe eyes.”
(Y/n) was now leaning against the desk, still looming in front of Kuroo as she sipped at the dark alcohol in her glass, ignoring the burn and focusing on the intensity of his eyes. “You know my husband really liked you...” she said, taking another sip before setting the glass on the desk beside her.
Kuroo cocked a brow at her as she pushed herself off the desk and approached him, heels clicking slowly against the hardwood floors. “He thought you were a good man... he trusted you with both our lives and saw you as one of his most capable men.”
(Y/n) stood beside the chair the larger man was currently occupying. She placed her smaller hand on his shoulder, her touch gentle until she suddenly squeezed at him roughly.
Kuroo looked at her in pure shock, wincing in pain as she kept an iron grip on him. “But if you ever talk down to me like that again, I’m going to cut your eyes out.” she threatened through her gritted teeth.
The bodyguard knew he should have felt fear. Or shame. Or perhaps even anger at the fact he had been threatened. But he would be lying if he said the deadly look in (Y/n)’s eyes, the tightness of her jaw, Hell, even her words themselves... didn’t make his blood deliciously hot and his heart pump faster.
Her touch was like electricity. (Y/n) seemed to feel the sparks as well, pulling her hand from his shoulder and returning to the desk to retrieve her glass of whiskey. “Am I clear, Tetsuro?”
Kuroo felt another jolt of electricity flow through him at the utterance of his name. He couldn’t help the way his lips twitched into a slight smirk before he spoke. “Transparently, m’am...”
-----------------------------------------------------------
“I was very saddened to hear about Ushijima’s death... he was a good man. But you can understand that I’m in a precarious situation given that I’m suddenly being asked to trust the protection of a woman that I don’t know.”
Kuroo couldn’t help but glance at (Y/n) for a reaction to those words. The newly crowned boss had been on edge for those past two weeks, he figured comments like that would have her snapping at them the way she had snapped at him weeks prior.
But she only gave the older man a reassuring smile as she crossed her legs, a very subtle way of showing more of her legs as her pencil skirt rode higher up her thighs. Kuroo felt his lips quirk into a slight smirk at the sight.
“I completely understand your concerns, Ukai.” (Y/n) cooed, smoothing out her skirt to draw attention to the garment. “But rest assured that my late husband’s advisors are monitoring the business and its affairs closely as I take on his responsibilities. Everything will remain stable through this change in leadership.”
Kuroo wasn’t wrong when he said (Y/n) was taking to this position; Her tone was cool, eyes locked on the other man’s as she spoke with authority. He was sure she could sell a glass of water to a drowning man if she needed to.
“Well... as long as the cost of protection remains the same and my day to day won’t be affected, this won’t be a problem at all.” The shop owner smiled, quite obviously drinking in the sight of the younger woman’s exposed skin until she stood from her seat.
“Wonderful. It was a pleasure meeting with you. Feel free to reach out should you need anything from the family.” (Y/n) said, a sickly sweet but somehow genuine looking smile painting her features as Ukai clambered out of his seat to bow respectfully to her.
The two said their goodbyes, Kuroo remaining silent as he followed close behind (Y/n) on her way out of the store. He took note of the way she suddenly tensed and shivered as they left the small shop, the autumn air seeping through the business formal clothing she had chosen for the day.
“M’am, we’ve visited quite a few of our partners today. I think it’s within reason to call it a day and get out of the cold, don’t you?” He asked, cocking a brow at her.
(Y/n) sighed softly, rubbing at her hands as she gave the bodyguard a small nod. “I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to go home and pick up where we left off tomorrow... and preferably in some climate appropriate clothing.”
“Couldn’t have said it better myself, m’am.” Kuroo said, receiving no response as he led (Y/n) to their car and opened the backseat door for her. He climbed in once she was settled and instructed the driver to take them home.
The ride was completely silent as the two refused to make eye contact with one another. A more adequate way of describing it would be that the two glanced at the other on more than one occasion, always looking away before they could notice.
Their eyes finally locked, only for the car to abruptly stop as the driver apologized.
Kuroo looked at the heavy traffic blocking their route home, eyebrows knitting together in confusion at the congested street. It was nowhere near rush hour and this side of town was never so busy.
Just as (Y/n) began to voice those same concerns, Kuroo caught sight of a figure moving through the traffic... no. Three. Instincts kicked in within the blink of an eye, and before he really knew what was happening he was tackling (Y/n) onto her seat.
“DOWN!”
Gunshots. Breaking glass. Screaming. A symphony that rang in Kuroo’s ears as he shielded (Y/n)’s smaller body with his. Her head was buried in his chest, muffling her cries of fear as bullet after bullet pelted the car and whizzed overhead.
Soon enough the gunfire subsided, leaving the two to catch their breath in the backseat of the luxury vehicle. Kuroo slowly lifted his head, glancing out the shattered windshield before looking down at the woman he was protecting.
She clung to his button-up shirt like if she dared let go he would fade away. Her chest heaved up and down as she looked up at him frantically, confused and scared, desperate to be back home and away from the madness.
He cupped her cheek, soothingly brushing his thumb over her flushed skin. “Wait here.”
Before (Y/n) could object, Kuroo was opening the door and crawling past her body, exiting the car with his pistol at the ready.
She wanted to yell for him, beg him not to leave her and to just hold her until it was over. That was the old (Y/n). The (Y/n) who had a husband to go into the world for her, deal with the ugly bits of humanity to take care of her and their child.
The piece of her that wanted to cling to her old life with Wakatoshi is what kept her curled up in the car, sobbing wildly as she waited for Kuroo to return. Despite knowing Toshi had always kept a sidearm hidden under the cushions of the backseat, she made no move to grab it.
(Y/n) could hear a few shots firing, the sounds of a scuffle then more shots. Then a heavy silence hung in the air, causing her to fear the worst. The quiet was followed by the sound of footsteps trudging towards the opened car door.
She covered her ears and curled up further into herself, shaking with fear as the footsteps grew closer and closer. “Oh dear god please. Please don’t. Please...” she whimpered barely loud enough for anyone but herself to hear.
Two rough hands took hold of her wrists, forcing a scream from her throat as they pulled her towards the door. (Y/n) fought against them for a moment, sobbing uncontrollably until she heard the man’s voice.
She could barely make out the words Kuroo spoke, her ears ringing as she finally allowed him to pull her from the car and to stand on her two feet. (Y/n) was sure it had something to do with having to move, but just as she was finally processing what was happening, Kuroo had lifted her off her feet and began running away from what remained of their car.
-----------------------------------------------------------
(Y/n) sat motionless in her office, deaf to the bickering currently going on around her. It was the usual suspects; Akaashi and Semi argued relentlessly over what to do about the attempt on her life, talking over one another while Kuroo stood silently by her side, nursing a headache.
“We’re taking her back to Tokyo! She’s not safe here-”
“If she leaves it will be showing weakness!” Semi barked over Akaashi. “She needs to stay here and face this head on while we look into who was behind the attack!”
Akaashi’s icy eyes narrowed at the other, “You could easily investigate what happened while we take her to Tokyo...”
“That’s so typical of you... Can’t leave that city that reeks of piss and shit for too long! You think you’re too good for Miyagi-”
“QUIET!”
The three men froze at the sound of (Y/n)’s voice and turned to find her practically shaking in her seat. “I’m not sure if this is clear... but I want whoever did this dead. And I mean seriously fucking dead!” (Y/n) jabbed her finger past the bickering men, pointing at the wall beside them. “Their heads mounted on my wall kinda fucking dead!”
Kuroo bit back a laugh, glancing between Akaashi and Semi’s shocked expressions.
“M’am, we’ll take care of it the second we learn who was behind this-”
“Then get the hell out of my office and find out who did it!” (Y/n) snapped, glaring at Semi and effectively silencing him. “Play dumb all you want but I know we have little rats all over Miyagi, one of them is bound to squeal if you ask the right questions.”
“I suggest we take you back to Tokyo while Semi conducts his investigation.” Akaashi spoke up, the glare he received from his employer doing little to rattle him.
“Figured as much but I’m not leaving. Semi’s right that it will show weakness. We have more than enough guards to watch the house while he gets to work.”
Akaashi opened his mouth to argue only for Semi to cut him off, “I’ll get to it right away m’am. In the meantime keep your head down.” He approached (Y/n), placing his hand over her clenched fist that rested atop her desk. “This will all be over soon...”
Kuroo’s expression soured as (Y/n) made no move to pull her hand from Semi’s. He watched him closely as he and Akaashi left the room, leaving Kuroo and (Y/n) in silence.
He moved around the desk, sitting in one of the armchairs and gaining the confidence to speak. “Are you actually comfortable staying in Miyagi...?” Kuroo was met with silence, prompting him to continue. “All you have to do is say the word, and I’ll drive you back home to Tokyo myself...”
(Y/n) seemed to ponder his words as she looked him over, “A 3 hour drive in the middle of the night... sounds like a bit much, doesn’t it?”
Kuroo chuckled lightly at that, relaxing into the chair as he ran a hand through his hair. “Not for you, M’am... Hell I’d drive you all the way across Japan if it made you feel safer tonight...”
(Y/n)’s lips twitched into a small smile until she processed just how tired Kuroo looked. She felt a twinge of guilt, despite knowing full well it was his job to stay with her. She could have requested a different body guard to take his place so he could rest.
He caught on to her shift in demeanor, tilting his head at her. “Are you alright...?”
“About as good as someone who almost died today can be... you should get some rest.” (Y/n) said, standing from her seat and prompting Kuroo to do the same.
“I don’t want to leave your side... I’ll be alright, m’am.” He assured, only for (y/n) to turn to him and take his hands in hers.
“You’ve done so much for me today... please get some rest. I’ll call one of the other men from your team to watch my door tonight. Just please... rest.” (Y/n) pleased, tone gentle but firm as she squeezed his hands.
Kuroo felt warmth bloom in his chest at the feeling of her hands in his, but just as quickly as this feeling came it had left. (Y/n) released his hands, silently leaving him as she hastily made her way to her room.
-----------------------------------------------------------
(Y/n) didn’t know what time it was when she woke to a cool breeze slipping through her open window. She knew it was late, and judging by how low the moon was in the sky she hadn’t been sleeping long.
She sighed as she turned to lay on her side, staring at the empty spot in bed beside her. Absentmindedly reaching out, her fingers grazed over the sheets, missing the warmth of the man who once occupied that side of the king size bed.
Warmth. That was what made her realize just how cold the room was. Along with the fact that she hadn’t left her window open that night.
Just as she made a move to sit up and yell for her guard, an unseen attacker wrapped a silk tie around her throat, causing her screams to die down in her throat.
(Y/n) struggled to fight against her assailant, wheezing for air as they kneeled on the bed beside her and pulled her onto her knees. Her body was now flush against theirs, thrashing for freedom while the attacker only pulled harder on the tie, further constricting her windpipe.
For a moment, (Y/n) was ready to let this happen. She was that scared little woman all over again, waiting for Wakatoshi to run in and save her from the dark. No. It had to be Kuroo. Kuroo would have to be the one to save her now.
But as her vision began to blur, she quickly realized no one was coming for her.
In that instant, the old (Y/n) was gone. Finally.
She used the last bit of her strength to reach up behind her and claw at her attacker’s face. Her nails dug into the fabric of a ski-mask until they found purchase in the eyehole of the mask.
The man suddenly screamed and grunted in pain as (Y/n) scratched at his eye, the feeling of warm liquid running down her arm telling her she had done a number on him. She took the opportunity to elbow him in the ribs and knock him off the bed.
She coughed as she struggled to catch her breath, using what little oxygen she had to let out a blood curdling scream. (Y/n)’s chest heaved as she weakly crawled to the other side of the bed, groaning in anguish as she heard the door to the bedroom rattling against the hinges. It was painfully clear now that the assassin had blocked the door.
She could hear Yamamoto’s frantic voice on the other side of the door, soon followed by Kuroo’s then Akaashi’s. It was hard to understand what they were saying as another surge of adrenaline flowed through her veins at the feeling of the man grabbing her by her ankle and pulling her to the edge of the bed.
Another scream escaped her lips as she kicked at the assassin, trying and failing to hit his bad eye until she glanced at him over her shoulder. her heel connected with his eye, sending him backwards with another cry of pain.
(Y/n) pulled herself to the other side of the bed, digging into Wakatoshi’s nightstand. Her movements became frantic as she heard the bed springs creak under the weight of her attacker.
Just as the bed dipped beside her, she found the revolver her husband had kept in the nightstand. In a blur (Y/n) had pulled back the hammer of the gun just as the man yanked her by her shoulder to face him.
Kuroo felt his heart drop into the pit of his stomach as he heard 6 gunshots echo from the bedroom. Bokuto had just begun ramming his shoulder into the door seconds prior, hoping that his weight would be able to break it open.
“Step aside!” Akaashi called out, approaching the door with an ax he had found in the gardening shed outside. He began hacking at the door, grunting with each hit until there was a hole big enough to reach through and remove whatever was blocking the door.
Kuroo flung open the door, rushing into the bedroom with Akaashi, Bokuto and Yamamoto by his side, each with their weapons raised and at the ready. The found (Y/n) curled up on the floor beside the bed, hugging her knees as she stared at the bullet-ridden body sprawled out across the mattress.
Kuroo ran to her side, cupping her cheek as he looked her over for any injuries, relieved to find none other than her bruising throat.
“Lets find out who this fucking dirtbag is.” Bokuto growled, yanking the ski-mask off the assassin.
The sound of the ax falling out of Akaashi’s hands and clattering loudly to the floor drew (Y/n)’s attention away from Kuroo and to the corpse. Kuroo turned his head as well, eyes going wide as his hands flew to cover (Y/n)’s eyes, but it was too late.
She had already looked into Semi’s lifeless but familiar brown eyes before Kuroo had a chance to shield her from the sight.
(Y/n) began screaming wildly and thrashing against his hold, sobs scratching at her already raw throat. Kuroo stood up, holding (Y/n) tightly as she went limp against him and wailed in despair. He uncovered her eyes to adjust his hold on her and keep her from falling, guilt forcing her to stare wide eyed at Semi’s now pale body.
Her screams continued to echo through the house until Kuroo managed to get her in the backseat of one of the cars in the garage, driving off with her in the direction of Tokyo and not bothering to look back.
-----------------------------------------------------------
(Y/n) stared blankly at the red liquid collected in the palm of her hand. A drop of water fell from a strand of her soaked hair and into the small pool of bloody water now rippling in her cupped hand.
A larger hand gently took hold of her wrist, extending her limb slightly and exposing the blood soaked skin of her forearm. (Y/n) further curled in on herself, bringing her knees tighter against her chest as a loofa gently brushed over her skin, leaving light red suds in their wake.
(Y/n) chewed at her lip, the slow ministrations pulling her from her haze as she cast a glance Kuroo’s way. He was kneeled beside the tub, eyes heavy with fatigue and squinting at harsh bathroom light.
He had rolled the sleeves of his thermal up to his elbows so as to prevent them from getting wet as he gently scrubbed her arms and torso of Semi’s blood. She had hardly moved since she stopped wailing on the drive from Miyagi, something told Kuroo if he even tried leaving her in the tub unsupervised she would slip under the water without realizing it.
It wasn’t part of the plan to start washing her, but the way she had just sat frozen in the bath, staring at the crimson clouds swirling in the water tugged at his chest and brought him to his knees beside her.
(Y/n) seemed unfazed as he ran the loofa over her chest, shivering at his touch only for a moment before returning to her motionless state. She rinsed off once the remainder of the blood had been scrubbed away, stepping onto the fluffy bath mat with Kuroo’s assistance.
Once she was dried and dressed comfortably, she allowed Kuroo to lead her to the bedroom. He checked the windows and shut the curtains as (Y/n) flopped onto the large bed behind him, releasing a breath she didn’t know she had been holding the second she felt the down comforter cradling her body.
“I’ll be right outside the door.” Kuroo mumbled, stepping towards the door only for (Y/n) to lightly take hold of his wrist.
“Please don’t go...” she said, voice hoarse barely above a whisper.
Kuroo couldn’t identify the whirlwind of emotions swirling in (Y/n)’s eyes. He could see the grief and shock from what had just transpired hours before, along with fatigue from barely sleeping a wink during the drive. But there was something lingering deeper. Maybe it was... no. It couldn’t be.
Kuroo wordlessly crawled into the bed, thankful he had put on comfortable sweats just before the incident. He laid rather stiffly on his back, his heartbeat thrumming in his ears when he felt (Y/n) move an arm over his waist. Despite his best efforts to calm himself, he only felt his heart pound faster as (Y/n) rested her head on his chest.
Her warmth slowly eased him to relax into the mattress, sleep slowly consuming him as he took in the sweet scent of her shampoo. His chest slowly rose and fell with each breath, only for it to tighten at the feeling of nails gently raking under his shirt and up his stomach.
It had to be his imagination, an inkling of a dream that he was slowly slipping into. Despite how incredibly real it felt, it had to be a dream.
The plush lips slowly working against his jaw, however, were not a dream.
Kuroo couldn’t help but shoot up in bed, cheeks flushing as he looked down at (Y/n), the unknown emotion in her eyes now painfully clear to him. “M’am-”
“It’s alright, no one has to know. Please...” (Y/n) murmured, lightly gripping the hem of his shirt as she sat up beside him.
Kuroo almost choked, fingers twitching at his sides as he struggled to think up a response. He’d be lying if he said he didn’t want to...
“(Y/n)...” he sighed, gently taking hold of her hands and bringing them to his chest. “Sex won’t make you feel better...”
(Y/n) bit her lip as her chest ached at his words, suddenly feeling foolish as she pulled her hands from him and looked down at her lap. “I just wanted to feel something good... for the first time in weeks.”
“When you’re in the right state of mind... we can try it.” he sighed, finding it increasingly difficult to take his eyes off her. “Right now I can stay with you, comfort you, hold you as much as you need... I just wouldn’t feel right doing anything else...”
(Y/n) stayed silent for a moment, internally screaming at herself to say something, anything to ease this tension. All she could do was wordlessly move her arms back around Kuroo’s waist and rest her head on his chest as he laid back, pulling the comforter over their bodies.
She stared at Kuroo’s chest, cheeks burning from embarrassment. It wasn’t until Kuroo began gently stroking her head that she relaxed against him as she had earlier. His thick fingers slowly worked against her scalp, pulling a content sigh from her lips as she began dozing off.
A small ‘thank you’ slipped past her lips before she finally fell into a dreamless sleep. Before she was completely overcome by slumber she felt a pair of warm lips press to her head.
-----------------------------------------------------------
The fact that the Tokyo faction hadn’t completely pulled out of Miyagi had (Y/n) more on edge than usual. She understood that Akaashi would have to do damage control, and that he would need a sizable group of guards there to keep him safe as he did so, but that didn’t make (Y/n) any less nervous about the situation.
According to Akaashi’s regular updates, Ushijima’s core group were up in arms about the turn of events. Some were in shock, evidently unaware of his turn away from the organization. Others had apparently seen it coming but elected to say nothing.
Meanwhile Daichi’s men were thrown for a loop by all of this, none of them having been in close with the late consigliere. That at least meant none of them worked with him on this plot against (Y/n)’s life.
It had been a week since (Y/n) and Kuroo left Miyagi. Since then only a handful of Kuroo’s men had returned to keep watch over the Tokyo residence. Kuroo would have been upset by this if they weren’t on their home turf, somewhere they knew like the back of their hand.
Over the course of that week, Kuroo seldom let (Y/n) out of his sight. He did what he could to ease (Y/n)’s nerves, well what he could do while basically keeping her under house arrest.
Whenever she wasn’t mulling over her work, he was dragging her out of her office to keep her occupied in other areas of the house. They quickly learned the kitchen was no place for them when they almost set it on fire their first night after they arrived.
They ordered a lot of takeout, eating in the house’s small theater room rather than the dining room and watching whatever movies they could find online or in Wakatoshi’s old dvd collection.
The two were settled in their usual chairs, a box of pizza set on the armrests between them as their movie selection for the night filled the silence between the two.
“You think that actually works?” Kuroo asked mid-bite, eyes never leaving the projector screen as he spoke.
“What works?” (Y/n) quirked a brow at him.
“The crying technique.” he responded, motioning to the screen with his free hand as the two teens practiced making themselves fake cry.
(Y/n) snorted as she bit into her pizza, whining softly as it lightly burned the roof of her mouth. “I ‘unno, never had to fake cry before...”
Kuroo snorted back, handing her an unopened can of soda to cool her mouth. “I’m not saying you have, I’m just asking if you think it works.”
She thanked him before quickly gulping down the soda and setting the can aside. “We can always try it if you’re that curious.” He couldn’t help but roll his eyes, but before he knew it (Y/n) was pausing the movie and turning to face him. “Cmon, since you’re so interested let’s try!”
“Noooo nononono, we don’t have to do that-”
“As your boss I am now ordering you to find out if the crying technique works with me!” (Y/n) giggled, tugging on his wrist to face her.
He could tell by the look in her eyes she wasn’t going to let up. Rather than argue he faced (Y/n) and huffed dramatically as he looked her over. “Okay. Let’s do it.”
(Y/n) smiled excitedly, bouncing lightly before composing herself. “Okay... tiny gulps of air. Ready?” The small nod she received from Kuroo signaled her to begin.
Her chest began to heave up and down rapidly as she started taking shallow breaths, eyes closing until she heard Kuroo snickering behind the palm of his hand. (Y/n)’s cheeks grew hot as she lightly smacked his arm, causing his laughter to grow in volume. “I’m not gonna do it if you’re gonna laugh at me!” she whined.
“Sorry sorry!” he smiled, raising his hands in mock surrender. “Taking it seriously now! This is very serious!” He chuckled, quickly composing himself.
“Good! Because this is serious! Now breathe!” (Y/n) playfully scolded, cracking a small smile before she started taking her shallow breaths. Kuroo followed her lead, fighting back a smile as they continued their antics.
(Y/n) let out a small whimper, the lack of air now pulling small noises from her parted lips that now actually made it harder for Kuroo to breathe. “I-Is it working?” she breathed.
Kuroo quickly shook his head, watching her closely as she stared at the ceiling, refusing to meet his eyes. “I can’t tell with you looking to the heavens like that, you cheater.” he said, moving closer to her as he continued taking his small gulps of air.
His close proximity forced (Y/n) to finally look at him, lips quivering at the intensity of his eyes. Their breaths mingling as their chests heaved in unison.
Kuroo couldn’t stop himself from glancing at (Y/n)’s lips, something that didn’t go unnoticed by her. He couldn’t deny he was satisfied she had seen it. Especially now that he saw her looking down at his.
His fingers twitched, longing to cup the back of her neck and hold her against him. Longing to taste her lips, but unwilling to cross that line unless she was ready.
Before he could further question himself, (Y/n) slowly took his cheeks between her hands, pulling him close enough to where their lips were barely touching. Kuroo exhaled shakily, the realization that she was waiting on him to close the gap sparking a burn deep in his chest.
He took a deep breath before finally smashing his lips against hers, drawing a moan from her as she returned the kiss with the same amount of passion. (Y/n)’s hands trailed down to his chest, gripping at his shirt as Kuroo cupped the back of her neck and deepened the kiss.
Kuroo was about to maneuver (Y/n) past the armrest to sit in his lap, the need to feel her body against his overwhelming his senses until the sound of the theater room doors opening forced them apart.
They were both very grateful at the height of the chairs, had they been shorter they would have definitely been caught. God, it was enough to make Kuroo feel like he was back in high school, having to sneak around with his crush or else he’d get grounded.
(Y/n) stood up from her chair, quickly composing herself when she recognized Akaashi standing at the door, clutching a file folder to his chest. The look in his eyes had (Y/n) completely forgetting her small tryst with Kuroo and rushing to get to her office with Akaashi.
“An autopsy showed that your driver that night had ingested a large amount of diazepam earlier that night... something none of his medical records show he had never been prescribed.” Akaashi explained, watching intently as (Y/n) paged through the numerous reports and documents he had collected over the course of his investigation.
Kuroo read what he could over (Y/n)’s shoulder, occasionally glancing between the papers and Akaashi as the man spoke.
“Meanwhile... Semi had been prescribed diazepam about three months prior to the accident. One thorough search of his residence later and...” Akaashi trailed off before pulling a sealed bag from his large briefcase and setting it onto the desk. Inside the bag was a half-full bottle of pills, labeled with Semi’s information as well as the name of the medication.
(Y/n) breathed shakily as she set the files down, forcing herself to look at Akaashi through the tears in her eyes.
“It’s evident that he drugged your driver earlier that night, knowing the heavy dosage would cause him to pass out at the wheel. Resulting in the accident... And since you didn’t die in the crash, he took action to remedy that when he knew for certain you’d be home.”
“So the ambush, he orchestrated that to make sure she’d be at the residence where he could try and...” Kuroo trailed off, earning a nod in response from Akaashi.
“Some quick hacking from Kenma showed a banking transaction between Semi and the three hitmen took place a few days before the attack... I’m sure he hoped they would get the job done before he ever had to intervene.” Akaashi explained, taking the file from (Y/n) as she handed it off to him.
She held her head in her hand for a moment, sighing deeply as she processed the information that Akaashi had gathered for her. She wound a hand through her hair, brushing it out of her face before she sat up to meet his eyes once more. “And the others...? Did they have a hand in any of this?”
Akaashi slowly shook his head as he placed the evidence back in his briefcase. “It doesn’t appear so... however I think it would behoove us to bring them here and interrogate them with you present.”
“Good. Send for them tomorrow. I want this over and done with.” (Y/n) declared, earning a bow from Akaashi. “I’ll leave you and Kuroo to discuss the security protocols for tomorrow. For now I need to rest. Thank you for your hard work.”
Kuroo silently watched her leave the room and was immediately met with a glare from Akaashi. “Did you fuck her?”
The bodyguard practically choked at the question, “What?! No! What the Hell is wrong with you?!”
“I’m not fucking stupid, I saw the way you two freaked out when I walked into that room. You’ve been alone with her a week and you’re telling me nothing’s happened?” the smaller man snapped.
“Nothing. Happened. And even if it did we have more important things to worry about than who she’s sleeping with right now.” Kuroo sneered, narrowing his eyes at Akaashi.
“That may be true, but we can’t risk giving anyone in the organization any reason to try and undermine her right now. You can both do what you like, but wait until this matter is settled... understood?”
Kuroo rolled his eyes at that, crossing his arms as he leaned against the desk. “Whatever you say...”
-----------------------------------------------------------
Kuroo had gotten a surprising amount of sleep that night considering the last minute preparations he had to take care of for the meeting set to take place that day. He was grateful for the small break he had gotten from his suits that week he was alone with (Y/n), but that only meant having to wear them once again felt constricting as fuck.
He adjusted his tie for the umpteenth time that afternoon, waiting patiently with Bokuto and Akaashi for (Y/n) and their ‘guests’ to arrive. Just as he began to wonder if (Y/n) had slept in, the door to the office creaked open, revealing a very professional, very sexy looking (Y/n) at the door.
She wore a form fitting blouse black blouse and a tight, black pencil skirt with tiny white polka dots and a small slit at the back. Her red-bottom Prada heels clicked against the hardwood as she approached her desk, seemingly unaware of the way the three men were staring at her.
“Is everything ready for our visitors?” She asked, smoothly sitting in her chair as she glanced between the three.
Akaashi quickly cleared his throat, causing Kuroo to realize she was primarily addressing him. “Yes, m’am. My men are all in place and Kenma is closely monitoring the residence’s cameras in case of any attack.”
(Y/n) gave him a small nod, glancing Akaashi’s way. “Do we have an ETA?”
“Approximately 30 minutes...” He replied, glancing at his watch.
“Good. You and Bokuto wait downstairs to receive them. Kuroo and I have some matters to discuss.”
Kuroo felt his heart jump into his throat, the sideways glance Akaashi sent him going completely unnoticed before he and Bokuto left.
(Y/n) beckoned him to approach the desk and he wordlessly obeyed, standing from his chair and moving around the desk to stand before her. “Is everything alright...?” he asked, the air around them thick with tension.
He watched intently as she licked her lips, her head slowly shaking in response. “No... I need you...”
Kuroo almost pounced on her in that moment, aching to touch her but showing restraint. “Is this what you want...? It isn’t the grief or the shock or anything else?”
(Y/n) quickly shook her head once more as she stood and gripped the lapels on his suit. “It’s none of that. I want you. I need you. I need you to fuck me and fill me before I deal with this bullshit. If you want the same thing, take me.”
He eagerly leaned in and kissed her hard, with just as much passion as he had the night before. Now there was no pesky armrest separating the two as they ground against one another.
A squeal of surprise escaped her lips as (Y/n) was lifted off her feet and rested on the edge of the desk. Kuroo gripped the hem of her skirt and bunched it up around her hips, revealing her lace underwear to him and pulling a deep moan from his throat.
He settled between her legs, hips grinding against hers as he greedily tasted her lips. (Y/n) hastily unbuttoned his shirt, exposing his toned chest and allowing her nails to drag down his bare skin.
Kuroo moaned against her lips, the pain mixing with pleasure as he ground his erection against her heat. He carefully started unbuttoning her shirt and littered her cleavage with hot kisses once he caught sight of her lace bra.
(Y/n) wound her hands into his hair, whining desperately as she struggled to get off her panties. Kuroo couldn’t help but chuckle as he assisted her, tugging off the soaked material and shoving them in his pocket. As much as he wanted to tease her and take his time with her, he knew they didn’t have very long.
He hastily undid his belt and his slacks, letting the material pool at his feet as he fisted his cock, lips quirking into a cocky smirk at the way (Y/n) stared at his length.
Kuroo gripped (Y/n)’s hip with one hand, using the other to guide the tip of his cock into (Y/n)’s entrance. He searched her eyes for any hint of hesitation or reluctance, but only melted when he saw the lust burning in her half-lidded eyes.
He fully entered her with a slow and deep thrust, unable to keep himself from moaning at the feeling of her tight pussy gripping his cock. (Y/n) whined and bucked her hips weakly in hopes of gaining some form of friction, earning a breathy chuckle from her lover before he answered her prayers.
Kuroo’s thrusts were quick and deliberate, the head of his cock pounding into her sweet spot once he found it. (Y/n) roughly took her lip between her teeth, trying to keep her moans quiet as ecstasy and pleasure rippled through her veins.
It worked to keep her quiet until Kuroo pulled her legs to wrap around his hips, somehow fucking her even deeper and harder. A small shriek almost escaped (Y/n)’s parted lips, but Kuroo quickly captured it in a heated kiss. Their lips and teeth and tongues clashed as their pleasure overtook them, orgasms approaching fast as he bucked wildly into her.
With one last snap of his hips, (Y/n) was pushed over the edge and moaning wantonly into the kiss as her orgasm washed over her. Kuroo reluctantly parted from the kiss, hissing as her pussy clamped down on him and soaked him with her juices.
“Tell me where, baby...” he groaned, thrusts getting sloppier by the second as he felt himself reaching his peak.
(Y/n) breathed hard and tugged roughly at Kuroo’s messy hair, back arching at the overstimulation. “I-inside. Please, inside...”
Kuroo felt his cock twitch at her words, unable to stop himself from finally cumming and painting her walls white. He hid his face in the crook of her neck to stifle his moans and groans. (Y/n) sighed happily at the feeling of his warmth inside of her.
A knock at the door cut their post-coital bliss short and sent them scrambling to tidy up and re-dress. Kuroo quickly helped clean up her smeared lipstick and dabbed the sweat from her forehead before drying his own.
Once they were both sure they were freshened up, Kuroo went to open the office door. He was quickly stopped as (Y/n) took his hand and turned him to face her, pressing one last kiss to his lips before she sat back in her chair.
Kuroo couldn’t help but chuckle before he opened the door, noting the knowing expressions on Akaashi’s and Bokuto’s faces. Akaashi was red with anger, whereas Bokuto was grinning smugly at the taller man.
“If you’re both finished...” Akaashi sighed, repressing his anger. “They’re here...”
Kuroo glanced behind them at the nervous looking group of men before he smirked and moved aside for them to enter.
The men shuffled into the room, each taking a seat in the office and flinching slightly as Kuroo shut the door behind them. He moved to (Y/n)’s side, looking over the group with (Y/n), unable to keep himself from smiling as she spoke.
“So... shall we?”

PARTY FAVOURS I CHAPTER 29
First time reader click here
Tumblr media
Feels like this story is flopping. Is it flopping? Idk. This chapter is 100% plot and it is spooky. Cursed demon box. Helpful Stephen Strange and grumpy Wong. Hovering Bruce and Tony. Loki being a honorary Gen-Z. Found family but make it ✨superheroes✨.
Tumblr media
"That's a lot to unpack," Peter stated once I had given him the bare bones report of the situation at hand. "Uh, are you okay?" The boy was obviously upset at my predicament, placing a supportive hand on my shoulder.
"Kinda?" I offered, making space for Wanda and Pietro who decided to join me and Peter, away from the arguing adults. The mission discussion - an absolute disaster - started as soon as Peter had walked in. Evidently experienced in such matters, the boy ignored the bickering and came over to steal me from Bruce's clutches to peacefully finish his egg sandwich in the company of his peers.
"I wanted to ask if I could see your memory of that time," Wanda meekly offered me a piece of candy. I accepted it - sugar sweet sugar, how I love thee so! The witch continued with a smile: "I think it would be helpful to see what we're dealing with, magic-wise."
"Sure," I trusted her. "Just don't scramble what's left of my sanity, please," All of us laughed at my remark as I laid down on the cold floor with my head in Wanda's lap. Her powers felt like small brain zaps, tingles that began at the front of my forehead and ran down into my spine. I followed her instructions and thought about the times I remembered, finding the box, placing it into my closet, the nightmares. I had a mild headache by the time she was done; no grudges against her - Wanda tactfully avoided my private moments and looked only at the ones containing the artifact.
"You've gotten really good," I complimented her with pure adoration.
"Thank you," She blushed, smoothing back my stray hairs. "That stuff is really strong. I don't think you should go near the box," She admitted. "And Doc should take a look at you. You have a residue left. I don't think that's good either."
"Well, fuck," I said in muted resignation.
"Press F to pay respects," Pietro joked in an attempt to lighten the atmosphere.
"Your luck is almost as bad as mine," Peter pointed out.
I scoffed. "Well, if I see any spiders around, I'll be sure to stay away in case they happen to be radioactive OsCorp runaways."
All of us laughed. Despite the grim situation, I didn't feel doomed. I was surrounded by friends and my boyfriends and my bestie who happened to be a mythical omnipotent god- welp, once again, I was getting too emotional. Once the adults were done arguing, we could start making sense of this mess and hopefully clean it up before the monster is out of the box.
"Mortals," I heard Loki scoff. The next moment, the Asgardian sat down noisily next to me, pout on full display. "This house is a nightmare."
His expression - or the accidental use of a meme - sent me completely, tension leaving my body via copious amounts of nearly hysterical laughter. Through tears and hiccups, I saw Wanda cackle with me and Peter show the meme in question to Loki, noting that he had been once sent to time-out on top of the fridge by Tony himself. Soon, all of us were laughing, much to the displeasure of the adults.
"Children, what is the issue?" Thor asked, irritated.
"We're just waiting for you to be done with arguing," I spoke before Loki could start bitching about Thor calling him a child. "Then I can show Steve and Loki where exactly have I buried the box so Stephen can take me to the healers and get this thing out of me or whatever," I pointed out the most logical plan of action.
Two long strides and the sorcerer was standing over me, boom-boom-whooshing and generally making very pretty golden patterns to appear and land on top of me. Tony and Bruce anxiously hovered behind him, both of my boys concerned and ready to mother-hen me. Ugh, so disgustingly adorable. Wanda's hand encompassed mine - she was nervous.
Stephen took a solid five-minute silence break before coming to a final conclusion. "Wong can get rid of the residual traces of the artifact's influence," The sorcerer announced curtly. "It's good you got rid of the artifact, a few more months and you would have started slipping into insanity if the magic within it was not released," He explained, slowly reaching out a hand to place it on top of my head. I wasn't sure if it was a gesture meant to bring comfort or another diagnostic test but leaned into the touch nonetheless. "Tell me, did you have any behavioral... Disturbances after...?" He trailed off.
I chewed on my lip, evaluating. "I honestly don't know. I've always been kind of an asshole," Honesty was the best policy. "Nothing seems out of order, sleepwalking aside."
"I see," Strange gave me a tight-lipped smile. "Perhaps, it was your stubborn nature that forbade the artifact from corrupting your mind completely. As evidenced by Captain Rogers, even undesirable character traits bring good into this world now and then."
That seemed a little bit hostile. I frowned, giving a questioning look to a frowning Loki.
"Speaking from experience?" Not the one to hold back upon witnessing first-grade bullshit, I withdrew from Stephen's touch, raising a sarcastic eyebrow.
Surprising everyone, the man laughed soundly, eyes crinkling at the corners. "I most certainly do," Shooting me a positively mischievous wink. I felt like I was missing something.
The room's inhabitants slowly ticked out in pairs and threes, eager to complete their assigned tasks. Loki had insisted on coming along to the sanctum with me, even almost getting up in Stephen's face, but Bruce - out of all people - managed to calm the Asgardian down, and together we convinced him his magic would be considerably more useful during the retrieval of the cursed box. Loki was worried - everyone with a pair of functional eyes could see that the spiky attitude was his way of showing he cared about me, which made my insides briefly turn to mush. I didn't expect him to take the title of my best friend so seriously and I definitely was not complaining.
Tony was the last to leave, jittery and shaky, clutching me like it was his last time seeing me, kissing me hungrily in front of everyone. The joke or two he made were weak ghosts of his usual sharp snark.
"I love you and I'll be back soon," I whispered into his ear, feeling him freeze and his fingertips dig almost painfully into my sides. Louder, I repeated: "Not planning on dying any time soon, y'all gotta chill. Let's go, doc?" I addressed the tall sorcerer who was tactfully pretending to be busy with his smartphone.
Wanda pressed a duffle bag into my hands mouthing "clean clothes" a split second before Stephen opened a portal and with a great deal of curiosity, I stepped through it, eyes immediately drawn to the dimly lit space filled with books and antiques. So many books, so many unusual trinkets. The chandelier that hung over our heads rivaled the ones I'd seen in million-dollar-homes of dad's friends.
"Follow me," Stephen extended an arm in the direction of a smaller door, "Please do not touch anything."
I walked a pace behind him, satisfying my curiosity by looking around like a child in a candy store. The air smelled different in the Sanctum, almost as familiar as Loki's magic but less frosty... Warmer. A dash of red fabric swished from somewhere towards me; I giggled. The Cloak of Levitation liked me - not nearly as much as it liked Peter though - so I brushed my fingertips along the fabric, greeting it quietly. Talking loudly in this building was out of the question. I felt like any moment, a disgruntled librarian would appear to chastise me for making noise.
"Strange," A short Asian man appeared, book in hand and looking none too happy. Guess that's the librarian... "I got your text. The room next to yours is prepared for the ritual," The man I assumed to be Wong gave me a curt nod in the way of greeting, doing a quick 180° and walking us back to a small but tastefully decorated room with a single cot in the middle. It was pleasantly warm, a small fire lit in the fireplace, willowy smoke of incense rising from a few strategically placed sticks.
"The bathroom is that way. I'm afraid you'll have to be fully nude for the procedure," Strange declared apologetically, pointing to a door hidden behind the divide.
I snorted, but of course, the weird voodoo shit would require me to be naked. Not that I was embarrassed or anything but still. Tony would have a field day. Locating a chair, I dumped my duffle bag on it, flying out of my hoodie and sweatpants in record time. My underwear and socks followed, feet unpleasantly chilly despite the carpeted floor. I ran a hand over the faint bruises on my hips, evidence of last night, fondly - either Tony or Stephen had left marks on my body and that was... It was great. I loved it, drugs or not.
I heard someone clear their throat and turned around, nearly cracking up at the way both men suddenly averted their gazes, blush riding high on their cheeks. I snorted: "I'm hot, what else is new?"
Wong shook his head, busying himself with some sort of a book; Stephen lingered, eyes fixated on the very same bruises. His tongue darted out, wetting the plush of his bottom lip, and damn, this wasn't the time to get horny. I shook my head and with that, the sorcerer caught himself too, mutely motioning me to lay down on the cot.
"Whenever you're done eye-fucking each other," Wong piped up sarcastically - wow, I liked this man already. Stephen grumbled something quiet and rude, provoking another snort from me.
I followed their instructions - shortly after the Asian man began reading - or rather singing - something in a language I didn't know, I felt myself fall into a deep sleep. Or, I thought I was falling asleep. At one point, my eyes opened to an empty room, a thin sheet covering my bare body, and a silence that made chills run down my spine.
"Stephen?" I called out. I sounded like I was underwater to my own ears. "Wong?"
I was met with silence so deafening, I had no choice but to sit up and look around. The fire was burning strong in the fireplace, several logs blackened from it as sparks flew. It took a second for me to realize it made no sound - there was no crackling. Something was very wrong, the dread was creeping up on me.
Very familiar dread.
With the sheet firmly wrapped around me, I hopped off the cot, suddenly noticing the drawings on my arms, my legs. I was covered in runes similar to the ones I had seen on the cursed box - and my memories weren't missing. As clear as day, I recalled messing around with the box, debating on opening it, taking it out of my room only to find it back on my desk in the morning, some serious Anabelle shit.
I jumped as the floorboards cracked somewhere in the house. Every logical thought I had, backed up by every horror movie I had ever watched, screamed at me to NOT go towards the creepy noise; like moth to a flame, I was drawn in and couldn't resist the unnatural urge to investigate it. On silent feet, I padded out of the room, desperately trying not to think about the lonely, dark hallways filled with strange ancient objects. My steps made no noise.
On the couch, in the main room we'd arrived, sitting lazily, was Tony. I'd recognize his hair anywhere - and the Led Zep tee, old, frayed edges and loose threads. "Tony?" I asked hopefully, trying to make sense of this...
He turned around.
It wasn't Tony. Whatever it was, it wore Tony's face, it held his brown eyes and crow's feet around them - it wasn't him. Wrong, like the lack of sound in this place, misplaced and unnatural. The doe browns didn't sparkle, lifeless, dull color of dried mud. As much as I wanted to go and bury my face in his chest, my limbs filled with lead, my whole body screaming "DANGER".
The impostor kept quiet which only solidified my suspicions. Real Tony would be running his mouth already, poking fun at my impression of a sheet ghost.
"Princess?" The... Thing asked in Tony's voice, but it fell flat and monotone.
"Whatever you are, you sure as Hell ain't Tony," I stated firmly, hoping for some answers. "What the fuck?"
Not-Tony's face changed, familiar features twisting into something sinister, the malice making me sick to my stomach. The creature stood up, causing my feet to take an involuntary step back as he advanced slowly.
"You have no choice but to submit," The Thing replied calmly. "You're not getting out of here. Not even your little Asgardian pet god can save you," Its tone was absolutely flat. I would have thought the thing was a robot if not for the obvious involvement of magic in this situation. Its words filled me with dread as thick as molten lava; unfortunately for the creature, unlocking my memories gave me enough rational balance to be acutely aware of it and therefore, able to fight it.
I could fight it. I didn't know how exactly, but I could resist it. "That's a really bold thing to say for something that... What even are you? Magical STD?" As my brain desperately focused on finding a solution to a problem I didn't know all the details of, my mouth had a mind of its own.
The creature growled, a far more primal noise than a human could make. "You don't know what you're up against, child. I am one for we are many," Suddenly, the room was filled with shadows as if someone had turned off all the lights and cranked up the moon to be the brightest it ever was. The shadows moved, oozed, motion sinister without any light to back it up.
I had no choice but to pucker up. Nobody was coming to rescue me; in fact, I always have taken pride in being a self-saving princess. Damsel in distress wasn't really my style. The hunch in my shoulders disappeared, giving way to a stubborn and stiff expectation of the upcoming altercation, hands bailed in fists.
"I mean, like Legion the demon from the Bible?" I recalled what little I knew from Wikipedia. "I mean, I'm agnostic myself, but if you feel like identifying with that, you should probably see a therapist."
The entity growled, shadows gathering around it like fabric on a string, and lunged. Paralyzed by sudden blinding, deafening fear, I turned tail and ran.

Yandere Hitoshi Shinso: The Psychiatrist's Office
"I love her, Doc. She's absolutely everything to me." Shinso was leaned back against the plush chair, sitting relaxed with his hands behind his head. He stared at the ceiling, avoiding eye contact.
"I'm glad you've found someone to share your time with Shinso."
Shinso couldnt help but smirk, just a bit. "I want to share my whole life with her, she's beyond everything I'd ever hope to find in a partner." He closed his eyes and pictured your face, your sweet eyes. Your bubbly laugh that sends shivers down his spine. "The other day was perfect. She finally came to my place. We laid on the couch, under a huge pile of blankets. We barely watched the movie I put on. Her lips hardly left mine to breathe."
"You're talking like there is an issue, your tone, Shinso..."
"You're right, damn you are good aren't you?" Shinso leaned forward on his knees and stared directly into the eyes of the shivering, flustered doctor. His cold violet glare pierced the nerves of the hostage, but the doctor's words remained calm.
"You can always talk to me Shinso, you're safe here."
Shinso's eyes flicked around the room for a moment, before fixing them back onto the Dr. "Well I suppose the issue is it's not enough for me." He clasped his hands together, his knuckles turning white. "Sure I know she likes me back, maybe even loves me..." The picture of your perfect body walking out of his apartment in the morning made anger boil up inside him. "There's always an excuse, she's off to 'work' she's meeting a 'friend' for 'coffee'" He used air quotations, like he was mocking you. "But I don't want her to leave I want her to stay with me, why can't she feel the same way I do?"
"Well..." The doctor started to speak. "Have you had a conversation with her?" He wanted so desperately to push the emergency button under his desk, to have security sweep into the room and free him from his wrist restraints.
"Of course I have, that's why I'm here today. I don't know why but the conversation went south fast." The doctor noticed that Shinso was starting to genuinely look concerned.
"Walk me through what happened... maybe I can offer some insight."
Shinso seemed to relax again and settled back into the chair. "I took her out on a date, we had a lot of fun. She had some wine at dinner, and asked to come back to my apartment. I was ecstatic." Shinso almost seemed like he might start tearing up, his voice cracking just enough for a proffesional to notice. "But the next morning she had errands to run, and I asked her the big question. Will you move in with me? I thought I'd feel better if she was going to come back to me. Ya know?"
"And she... rejected your offer?" The Dr was able to get part of the hand released from the bonds, he had to move slowly so that his patient wouldn't notice his sudden freedom.
"She said that she would think about it. I panicked Dr okay? I panicked!" Shinso was yelling now. He covered his face in frustration, clawing at his skin.
The Dr stopped moving towards the emergency button. "Shinso... what did you do? You can tell me, I won't judge you."
"Stop moving, and turn off your recording device." Shinso's voice was chilling, deep and full of calm rage. The Dr couldn't help but follow his commands, his mind fogging over. The Dr reached for the recorder and shut it off before leaning back in his chair, sitting eerily still. Shinso smashed the machine with his fist. "I know that she'll be happier with me, we're moving out of the city this weekend. I think some country air should do us good. I just needed to get off of my chest, help the guilt some you know? I'm not delusional. I know tying up your girlfriend and keeping her in a closet is probably a bad look for a pro hero..."
He stood over the Drs slack jawed face, feeling no remorse for his actions. "But I feel good about my choice. Thanks for being such a good listener Doc. Now swallow your fucking tongue."

Chapter 11: Promise

Masterlist
Simmons places a glass in front of Byun, a club soda with vodka, although there is more ice than drink in the glass. Her body had become one with the seat, the first sign of exhaustion she has exhibited in days. Tilting her head up, she gives him a thankful smile, slowly lifting her arm to her drink.
“All those energy drinks are gonna kill you one day”, Matt started, sipping on his Old fashioned.
Sena lets out an uncomfortable hum, saying, “don’t talk about it”.
“Oh, she’s finally crashing”? Luke piped, hovering over her seat.
She squeezes her eyes shut and raises a finger at him. “Don’t make me punch you”, Sena whines.
A mouth full of chuckles, Luke goes to find an empty seat to sleep in, leaving Matt to supervise the youngin. Given what Reid shared with him, and the tension line down her forehead, she is still not doing well.
“You wanna talk”? He asked, swirling his glass.
“No”.
“You sure”?
“I already went through this with Doc”.
“Something tells me it’s another thing”, he adds, dragging out the sip from his cocktail.
Her eyes flick open, chilled and dark, but sunken in the middle. Like a lawyer who knows they are losing but they’re too far in. It is more shameful to fold on your own accord than for someone to do it for you. There is a comfort in someone taking her pity.
Soothed but still preoccupied, she leans forward and picks an ice cube from the glass, placing it in her mouth. Through the crunching, she says, “It’s just screwed up”.
Simmons, his drink now empty, pours the remaining ice into her glass. Heaviness on his shoulders, and the corners of his mouth trying to be hopeful, he says, “Yeah, I know”.
-----------
On the front end of the plane, Emily surveys her teammates every few seconds. Luke occasionally has snores fall from his mouth. Sena and Matt carry their conversation in hushed voices. Spencer is lost in his book until he has an interesting tangent to share with Rossi, who is lost in thought.
“You’re staring at them”, Hotch teased, peering up from his paperwork.
She scoffs, “Oh like you haven’t done the same”, laughing a bit.
Hotch nods, testing the ink in his pen, “You know you can always visit. They’ll miss you, they'll want you to stop by”, he reassures.
“I know”, she says, “Shouldn’t I be reassuring you? You’re the one who is going back to work after, what, five years”?
“Four, but I have experience with this. And you are more than qualified for Director, you’ll do great”.
Prentiss relaxes a little more into her seat, “Thanks. You getting used to the new jet”?
“I will say, the seats in the old one were more comfortable”.
“You got that right”.
Hotch turned in his seat, glancing back at Reid and Dave, “For some reason, I expected them to look the same as I left, and you. I know I have seen you guys outside of work but, this is just a weird adjustment”.
“It’s a good weird, right”?
He gave a reassuring look, “It’s a good weird”.
A pleasant lull drapes between the two before Emily shifts her eyes back to Rossi, who is still looking out the window.
Still fixating on the files in his lap, Hotchner mumbles, “What is he doing”?
Her expression feigns innocence as she asks, “What do you mean”?
“I mean you’ve kept looking at Dave every five seconds since I got here, and he is spacing out a lot”.
Prentiss’s gaze falls on the dead air, nibbling on her fingernails before she spoke, “Can you do me a favor”?
His voice becomes thick with concern, “Yeah, what is it”? He said as he puts his paperwork on the seat beside him.
Emily folds her hands together, and brings them to her lips, trying to find the right words. “You know how he gets in his moods? Just secretive and...independent”?
“I am familiar”.
“He is focussing on this case, and he’s not talking to anyone about it. I’ve tried to pry but he won’t budge and-”
“You want me to give you updates when you leave”?
“Yes! But no. I just think you may be better equipped to handle this than me”.
Aaron leans back into the chair, reaching back for his forms, “I can try”, he said, his pen tracing through the lines, “I’m sure he has his reasons, it could also be another Galen situation for him”.
“No Hotch, it’s different. I think it involves Stephen”.
The scribbles on the paper cease and he glances to meet her eyes, “Is Stephen and his family safe”?
“To my knowledge. Do you know what case it could be”?
“No. But I’ll figure it out”.

Part 3
_________
The last three weeks have been absolutely divine! Harry managed to convince you about closing your clinic earlier than usual, he said and you quote, "the babies are gonna be safe with their parents, lovie", so that's what you did, you closed your clinic early for the Christmas Season and told your patients that you're just a call away.
You managed to snag a couple of Christmas Gifts for your husband and for both of your families. You were never a fan of late shopping but after the fight you and H had, you've been nothing but inseparable. Always tied on each other's hips and always wanting to feel one another's presence.
Both of your families drove at your house during the 23rd, wanting to spend Christmas Eve together. All you can hear are the joyous laughter and love for one another and you can tell that Harry is savoring every moment for when he leaves for his tour.
You both agreed on visiting him often and staying with him for a month before you go back to your job for another month then visit him again. It will be a tiring process especially for you but it was the best you both can come up with. It was a compromise the two of you can work with and it will be all worth it in the end.
Harry talked about his excitement about his upcoming tour with your families. Everyone spent time with one another but you can tell that Harry enjoyed it the most. Your families stayed for a week, leaving on the 30th.
He's been spending time with the kids the most. With your sister having a newborn and Gem being pregnant for the 3rd time, he caught a glimpse of what it's like being a father. You would often catch him staring at you while holding the kids and it made you smile. You can't wait for the time when Harry is holding your own child but you've talked about not trying until after his tour.
It wasn't Harry's fault though. You never really thought about having an irregular menstrual cycle and was never really bothered by it before the marriage but now it was all that's in your mind. H taught you to love yourself and your body though. He was so understanding of everything which makes your heart burst every single time.
You've been eating more than usual and you always feel bloated. You told Harry that one-night whistle your families were there but he only told you that you still looked beautiful. You have never been a stress drinker though you still drink on occasions, you are more the stress eater type of person.
You've been very stressed about hosting your families for Christmas and hosting the upcoming New Year Party, and the fact that you might not fit in the dress you bought for that event adds to the fire. Harry understood and tried to help you with everything he can to lessen your stress. He once joked about opening your clinic to stress you more so you'll cook more food for him to munch into.
---
It was 30 minutes before midnight. Your friends were scattered around your house, talking and laughing and drinking and catching up with one another while you, however, tried being the best host as much as you can.
On occasions like this, you'd like to at least have a drink on your system but you couldn't risk messing something up, you are a strong believer of the saying, "what you do on the 1st day of the year, will be what you're doing for the rest of the year", so if you are crying on new year then you'll be crying for the year but if you're laughing during the new year, then your year would be filled with happiness, plus you managed to fit in your dress! God forbid you staining it and having to deal with staining your clothes for the whole year.
You haven't seen Harry since Zayn arrived, you figured that the lads have been catching up and the thought made you smile, but right now you really need his help. You're running out of cupcakes, and you don't know what to do!
Someone snaked their hands from your behind and you're startled by it until you smelled the perfume you know by heart and saw the familiar tattoos on the person's arms. You couldn't help but lean back to relax a bit and laced your fingers with your husband.
"What got you so stressed bunny? I can see your frown from the living room. Know I hate seeing you frown baby.", Harry said into your ears that sent chills down your spine. There was no loud music but you're sure that the voices in your house would beat the sound if there was one.
"We're running out of cupcakes! I think it was me, it's all I've been consuming since our guests arrived!", you sighed after you said that but your husband only laughed and turned you to him.
He smiled widely at you. "You're really cute baby.", then bopped your nose with his. "I got us covered angel, there are spare cupcakes in our room."
"H! Why are there cupcakes in our room?!", you couldn't help but laugh at it though.
"Because the tables were full and I don't know where to put it and our guests were arriving so I just put it on the first place that comes into my mind!", H tried to reason you but you were already laughing at him. He pouted at you but couldn't help but laugh along at the situation, he loves hearing your laugh!
"Okay okay baby H, let's get the cupcakes here, yeah?"
"Did you just called me Baby H? Hmm?", he playfully asked you, "We both know that you're not calling me that when we're alone.", he whispered to your ear hotly and you felt your stomach drop. "Why don't we try that theory of yours baby girl? Let's find out if we're really going to have sex every single day if we do it on new year.", he sounds so hot and you're so flustered, and that's when he laughed.
"Gotcha baby! Payback for laughing at me!", the crinkles on the side of his eyes appeared while cackling, he's even patting his knees while doing so courtesy on how much he found the situation funny and you can't help but admire him and laugh along instead of being annoyed with him.
"Oi oi what you laughing about love birds?!", Louis smiled at the both of you while entering the kitchen.
"Nothing Lou, H is just being dramatic.", you said as Louis rounded the table to inspect the food and his eyes landed on the single cupcake at the plate.
Harry noticed, "Mate were just about to get more cupcakes, you can have it."
"Thanks man. And great party you two!", and with that, Lou sauntered out of the kitchen with the cupcake in his hand.
"Guess we really do have to get the cupcakes down now, huh?", you playfully asked your husband as he intertwined your fingers and pulled you upstairs to get the other boxes of cupcakes.
After the party, you really did test the theory of yours. You made love for the first time of the year, before he leaves for his tour tomorrow night.
---
Harry has been away for the past few weeks. You never really paid attention to the changes of your body, but your abdomen seems to have a bit bump to it but you're not even on your period. You really don't want to get your hopes up that you're ovulating for the month, your husband is not there anyways.
You used to hate getting your periods when you were still a teen up until your early to mid-twenties, dread for it actually, but now, all you wanted was for your period to greet you even in the most inconvenient times!
You're eating more, but you don't have any weird cravings since you eat almost everything - you're not a picky eater so it was so easy for Harry to take you out on dates and not worry about you not going to like the restaurants he picks at the start of your relationship - so you pass that as your stress. Stress on your job and missing your husband.
But then you started feeling nauseated all the time. It wasn't every morning after you wake up, it's actually in the afternoon. You thought that maybe it was your eyes again. You refuse to wear glasses and contacts even though you're mostly looking at the computer screen so you didn't bother much about it until one day at the grocery store.
"You're glowing, Doc! Early stages of pregnancy don't really look great on everyone but you pull it off!", Mrs. Green, the mother of your patient, said as you bumped into her while running some errands.
You blushed at the thought, "no, I- I'm actually not um pregnant.", you stuttered.
"Oh I'm sorry, I just thought..."
"It's alright, probably just the weather outside!", you talked to her for a couple more minutes before she has to go but during your conversation, you couldn't help but think about it.
Can you really be pregnant?
And with that question lingering on your mind, you went to the pharmacy of the story and bought more pregnancy tests than necessary.
You graduated with a Ph.D.! How come you never thought about this! Yet again, you and H never really talked much about pregnancy either so it wasn't the first thing that came to your mind.
Never in your life you'd have thought that you'll be drinking this much liters of water in a span of an hour. Numerous pregnancy tests wrappers on the small bin on your bathroom along with more than 10 pregnancy tests on your bathroom counter but never once you had peaked on any of it. You just couldn't do it.
You left the bathroom an hour ago and you're sure that every single pregnancy test results are done now.
You're so excited but scared at the same time. You know that Harry would be really ecstatic if he's here but he's just starting his tour, you don't know how he'll react but at the same time, if you're really pregnant then it wouldn't take long for him to accept it.
But you're more scared that those tests may come all negative. You got your hopes really high now and you're really wishing that you're carrying Harry's child. If the tests are negative then Harry wouldn't need to know that this ever happened, but you sure as hell would be really down and disappointed.
You decided to go to the bathroom to finally face your fears. You stood outside of the bathroom door and counted the pregnancy tests on the counter. 15. You don't know what to expect but you pray to God to give you strength no matter what the results say.
You slowly walked inside and looked at the first test. Negative, and boy did it disappointed you more than getting an 88 on your test when you were still in college.
The next pregnancy test came out positive. You froze, one negative and one positive equals negative, so you need more proof.
The third one came positive yet again. You still didn't believe it and look at the next test.
Positive. 3 positive and one negative. You're slowly starting to smile.
The next was another positive. You feel like you couldn't breathe so you look at the next one.
Negative. And there it goes again. All your hopes and dreams crushed. 4 positives and 2 negatives.
The next came out as positive, negative, positive, positive, positive, positive, positive, positive, and the last one was again, positive.
With each look at the pregnancy test, you couldn't help but cry. 3 negative tests and 12 positive tests. This is it, you're really pregnant. After years of trying.
You cried of happy tears and for the first time in your life, you put your hands on your tummy with so much care and look at it with so much adoration. "Are you really there, baby?", you continued to sniffle. "Gosh, I love you so much already. Daddy will be so happy. We get to see him in the next few days!", with that you wiped your tears and looked at the mirror to admire your body.
You took your first body picture as pregnant in front of your huge mirror in your walk-in closet and went to pack for your one month visit to your husband.
---
The plane landed a couple of minutes ago and you're on your way to Harry's hotel to drop off your things and go to the arena where he's performing. During the ride it made you think that about how you're not really sure if you're pregnant. You need to get an ultrasound to make sure but you also remembered that Harry would have loved to attend the first time you went to the doctors so you didn't think much about it.
You arrived at the arena after dropping and changing your clothes at the hotel. Harry was having a soundcheck so when he took a break and went backstage to change his shirt, he was so surprised to see you there. He thought you wouldn't be coming until two days before his birthday.
He ran up to you and almost crushed you. You being really cautious, put your arms to shield your tummy before he reaches you. H didn't notice what you did since he missed you so much and just wanted to hold you. When you felt like its safe to remove your arms, you hugged him back and swayed the both of you side to side. His head was in the crook of your neck and is pressing multiple kisses to your skin.
"Missed you so much. Though you're not gonna be here until the day after tomorrow.", he mumbled on your neck still hugging you tight.
"Jeff helped me with everything. Missed you so much more handsome.", then you kissed for the first time after being away for the last 3 weeks.
---
It was his birthday. You brought him presents and celebrated really early with him before you both have to leave for his soundcheck. You never would have thought that you're going give him another gift. You were going to wait until Valentine's day to tell him that you might be pregnant but things don't always happen as you please.
Harry saw a pregnancy test laying around his dressing room earlier, it was positive. He thought it might be Sarah's since she and Mitch have been planning on starting a family after this tour, much like you and him, so he didn't dig further to it, as a respect to his friends' privacy.
You weren't acting weird, only when you threw up after lunch, he thought your stomach wasn't used to the food so he let it slide and just made sure you were okay, in which you replied to as "just probably ate a lot". Then it was time for a few shots and a cake before he went to the stage. He's dressed and ready to go, 20 minutes before his last call. Everybody was having a shot and greeting your husband but you stuck to your water and 2 big pieces of cake.
Harry thought you were just hungry since you emptied your stomach earlier so he let it slide again but when you refused a drink, he couldn't help but pulled you to the side and ask.
"What's up with you baby? You sick my love?", he looks so concerned and you found it really cute so you pecked his lips. Hormones.
"I'm not, just really hungry.", you smiled at him. You're good with lying and you get away most of the time with it but not with your husband. No matter how good you are with it, he knows you better than anyone else.
"You refused my drink babes, it's my birthday", he pouted, "it's an occasion my love."
"I know H, I'm sorry, I couldn't drink, I really don't want to.", you tried to reason him but he wasn't having it.
"Don't lie, baby, I know you. Please tell me what's wrong pretty girl.", he took your hands and kissed your knuckles.
"There's nothing wrong with me, I promise. Go on, enjoy you-"
"Harry, 5 minutes!", Jeff yelled signaling Harry to get ready.
"Y/N just tell me. I'm worried, please baby. I wouldn't be able to stop thinking about it. You're acting really strange and yo-"
"Pregnant.", you whispered.
"Come again?"
"We might be pregnant.", you said in a whisper while slowly meeting your husband's eyes.
"You're what?!", he's jumping on the balls of his feet now.
"Yeah, I might be pregnant.", you looked down, feeling disappointed. This isn't the reaction you were hoping to receive and it made your eyes water.
"How sure are you?", Harry asked in a strained voice. "12 positive tests and 3 negatives...", you said not meeting his eyes even though you can tell that he's looking at your figure.
Then Harry forced you to look at him, cradling your face with his hands. His eyes were so wide and green, blown pupils and you can see the tears starting to form in his waterline. "Are you really?", his voice breaks in the middle. You only nod your head.
With that, he kissed you, passionately. He didn't care that Jeff was yelling at him to go to the stage and that his fellow bandmates are stalling different tunes just for him. He kissed you like his life depend on it until he pulled back and dropped to his knees and lifted up your shirt.
"Can you hear me my love?", he whispered to your small tummy and you couldn't help but tangle your right hand with his hair, not caring if you messed it up, while your other hand is clamping your mouth. You're crying so much. "I love you bubs, daddy loves you so much.", Harry met your eyes and smiled at you.
"Both of you wait for me here, okay?", he stands up slowly while bringing your shirt down. "Eat as much as you please and I'll have some guards near you and give you a seat in here, mkay?", he looks so happy.
"Okay H. But we're not totally sure yet. I only told you, wasn't planning on it until the 14th s-"
"Then we'll go to the doctors first thing in the morning okay? Gotta take care of you more now, the both of you", you smiled at his concern.
"If that's what you want then. But for now, go and please the world.", you slowly pushed him off you.
He kissed you one more time before jogging backwards to the stage while yelling "I love you."
That night he performed with all of his energy and everyone can notice the change in his demeanor. To some, it's probably because it's his birthday but to both of you, there's a different reason behind it.
During the middle of his concert, you saw him whispered to his bandmates and everyone nodded.
“I'm going to sing another song I wrote a couple years ago. This is not on the setlist but tonight I'm making an exception since this is probably one of the best nights of my life.", the crowds cheered for him, "please if you have your phones, open your torches and bring it up in the air. I'm singing without a mic so please be quiet.", the crowds cheered grew louder then he winked at you from the side stage.
"This is Sweet Creature."
And with that, you know that whatever the future holds for the two of you, you'll be facing it together with your small family. You'll be now taking care of your own baby aside from your patients in a mere 33 weeks!
But maybe not "small family” after all, when you find out that you'll be having twins. And you'll have to compromise again about visiting him on tour with the babies on the way but there's nothing in the world you'd want to trade it with.

quality time
rwrb and the five love languages | part four
in which bea nearly crashes from the stress of party-planning (aroace rep)
Princess Beatrice buzzes around The Masquerade, double-checking place cards, straightening table settings, and pulling dried rose petals from the centerpieces. She rented the concert venue for the night to throw a modern Valentine’s gala to benefit Henry’s queer youth center in London. He and Alex are around here somewhere, probably hooking up in a broom cupboard and definitely not nitpicking every detail like Bea is. Her assistant follows her with a clipboard and updates her on the schedule: t-minus three hours until guests arrive and, in the meantime, she needs to give final approval, soundcheck with the band, and get dressed up. Jeans and a blazer, while royal casual, are not party-appropriate, and tonight needs to be perfect.
She usually hates royal events like galas, but this one is special. Not because it’s Valentine’s Day—Bea could not give two fucks about the holiday—but because ever since coming out as asexual around Christmas, she’s been looking for an opportunity to help other queer people, or at least give them a public figure they could point to and say, “See Mum and Dad, she’s like me.” Henry and Alex got their chance, and now this time, it’s hers.
The stage lights up with pink and red; it’s cheesy, but Bea digs it. The concert was the one thing she would not budge on with her royal event planner. Did she want to reach into wealthy pockets? Yes. Did she still want to have a good time? Hell yes. And the band she’s joining for one night only happens to be just as queer as the charity they’re supporting.
Permanent Record, local to London, tune their instruments on stage. Bea has met them dozens of times over the last month and vibed with them instantly. Margot, the too-cool lead singer always decked out in a leather jacket and Docs, is ace like her, and as much as Bea has wanted to get to know them, there’s been no time. Turns out, party-planning and party-executing steals the host away from all meaningful human connection. She’s only been able to keep up with Henry because he’s partly responsible for this event.
The pit, full of tables covered in pink and gold, finally looks perfect enough for Bea to hand-off any other minute fixes to the planner and finally have her soundcheck with the band. But then, a large crash comes from the back of the venue, and she hears a loud shriek coming from a familiar voice, the one that’s been shrill and disapproving for the last month. When Bea runs up, she sees hundreds of shattered champaign flutes and her planner on the floor, blood oozing from her hands.
This cannot be happening. The only reason Bea kept this woman around was to take most of the day-of duties off her plate. But she’s in the back of an ambulance now, and Henry is nowhere to be found. Bea’s stress levels go from tolerable to unbearable as she orders her assistant to track down replacement flutes. The staff are quick to fill her other requests: a couple of people start sweeping, someone runs off to find her co-host, another tells the band Bea’s soundcheck will be postponed, and a brave soul steps up as a temporary assistant and follows her around the back tables to check for broken glass. Bea knows she doesn’t have to be the one to do this, but it seems like the success of this event lies solely one her shoulders. If something goes wrongs, it’s her face—not Henry’s—in the papers the next day. Powder Princess Crashes and Burns at Gay Ball. Christ.
After an hour, everything is sorted. There’s no glass. The planner is getting stiches. Permanent Record has started their soundcheck and sound amazing. But even their chill indie tunes can’t calm the princess. She needs to get on stage, but her stylist specifically requested she have at least two hours to work his magic, which is not going to happen.
Bea tells her assistant to get her stylist and his team to the venue, because she won’t be able to leave, and warn him he’ll only have an hour at best. Henry and Alex have already taken off to get ready, and she has to remind herself to smack them later for abandoning her.
She tugs off her blazer, drapes it over a chair, and rolls up her sleeves. If she does get her hands on a guitar, she’ll explode. It’s all she can think of to stop her from raiding the bar at the back.
“Better late than never, eh, Princess?” Margot says as she huffs on stage.
One of the stagehands gives Bea her beautiful sleek, black Fender Stratocaster, and her anxiety reduces itself to a hum. Music can’t cure all, but it certainly keeps her from wrecking every good thing in her life.
“Let’s just play,” she says.
But it’s anything but perfect. Whatever chemistry she had with Permanent Record somehow jumped into the Thames between their last rehearsal and now because this is an absolute travesty and she’s only playing two songs with them tonight. She’s forgotten measures of one song and can’t find the chords fast enough in her solo of the other. Utter shit.
Why does she even fucking bother?
She always fucks everything up. Always. Why did she think she could put this on? Sure, she’s chaired these events before, but not ones she actually cares about, not ones she’s actually put her heart into. Christ, no wonder. She should’ve known it would turn out like this. She’s the anti-Midas; everything she touches turns to shit.
No kid will ever see her as a queer role model. She’s the girl they point to and say, “See Mum and Dad, what a waste.”
She needs a hit so fucking bad.
Which is why she has to get out of here ASAP. Before she does anything she’ll regret. She won’t slip again, and she won’t be the reason this gala fails. Henry can handle it without her.
So when Margot calls for a five-minute break, Bea excuses herself and hands off her guitar. On her way out the door, she tells the stagehand to find her assistant and tell her to have Henry take over. The hard part is over thanks to the planner actually being brilliant at her job, even if she and Bea would never get along.
No doubt, cameras are already lined up outside, so she hides in one of the green rooms and locks the door behind her. If she just takes a deep breath and calms down, she can bring herself back from the edge.
Five things she can see: The 1975, Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, Solange, and Fiona Apple’s signatures on the artist wall.
Four things she can feel: the worn leather on a crusty couch, the chipped-paint walls, her toes in her shoes, and her fingers through her light brown hair.
Three things she can hear: the ticking from the clock, the click of her heels as she paces, and a knock at the door.
Two things she can smell: decades-old musk from artists past—no doubt coming from the couch—and her light perfume on her wrist.
One thing she can taste: a hint of coffee from earlier.
She breathes in and out, and the knock on the door continues.
“Bea, are you in there? Could you let me in?” Margot. Essentially a stranger. She supposes it’s better than facing a disappointed Henry, so she opens the door and promptly relocks it as soon as they’re inside.
“Christ, this place is legendary, isn’t it? Everyone’s played here—is that Bob Dylan? Fucking nuts,” Margot says, pointing to the wall.
“I’ve seen loads of people here. Always wanted to play here myself,” Bea tells them. She traces Lizzo’s signature. That was a fun night; Nora and June flew out for a girls’ night, which was ultimately crashed by Pez.
“Me too, and the rest of band as well, I suppose.” Margot looks at Bea and smiles. They’re brown eyes crinkle in the corner, and it reminds her of Alex. “And now we get to, eh, Princess? Couldn’t’ve gotten here without you. The whole world knows Permanent Record now.”
“You could’ve done it without me,” she says. “You will tonight anyway.”
“Hey.” They reach for Bea’s hand. “Everyone has some hiccups before a big gig. It’ll be grand, but only if you’re there. This is your night as much as it is ours or the youth center’s. You have no idea how important it is for your lot to shine a light on causes people shy away from.”
That makes Bea smile. For so long she wanted to hide from her position. She wanted freedom to do whatever she pleased, but now she understands the power she has, even if people still see her as “The Powder Princess.” No matter what she wears, millions of fashion influencers share links to her clothes. If she walks into a restaurant, their yearly profits skyrocket. When she told the world she was ace, thousands of people messaged her and said the same. One of them was Margot, telling her about their undiscovered band from South London.
She tells Margot how that was one of the first times she really felt like herself. Completely at peace with who she is. How that peace got away from her and turned this gala into a near-panic-attack-inducing event, she doesn’t know.
“Have you let on how stressed you’ve been to anyone?” Margot asks. The two sit together on the couch after Margot bravely plopped themself down on the dirty, old thing.
“Hadn’t the time,” she says. Truthfully, Bea doesn’t think she’s had a genuine conversation with anyone since the gala’s conception.
Margot throws their hands in the air. “Well, there you go then! You’ve got to take the time! To take care of yourself. To hang out with your mates. Just to have some goddamn fun, Bea! Come on! You think I’d be a functioning human if I didn’t let loose with my mates every now and then? This—” They gesture to their body, covered in tattoos and tattered black clothing. “Doesn’t happen on its own.”
Bea laughs. It’s been so long since she’s laughed from anything other than stress. “Right, so how does this all happen then?” She swirls her hand in Margot’s direction.
As they chat, Bea relaxes. They talk about their families and uni and music and coming out. Bea tells Margot about the time she and the gang went to the karaoke bar where Henry got wasted and sang Queen horrifically. Margot tells her about the time in year twelve when they got dared to try out for the school play and ended up playing an old man in the most unbelievable bald cap.
Eventually, the two of them pull out their phones and play a few games of Among Us until Bea’s desperate assistant finds her and pleads for her to get ready though the door. They only have an hour before guests arrive.
“You all right?” Margot asks. “Want to go out there and try again?”
Funny how it doesn’t seem so scary anymore. How it only took a short break, a nice chat, and a little pink astronaut to put Bea at ease. She smiles. The notes come back to her fingertips.

Hi! May I request soft space wives + an AU where Grace is still alive?
I LOVED writing this! I wasn’t sure what to do for it for ages and then inspiration struck as I was feeling festive so here you are! I really hope you like this!
Rating: G
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 1700
Another Christmas
“This was a wonderful idea, thank you for having us.“ Yaz grinned as Grace handed her a mug of eggnog. The O’Brien’s house was warm and cozy thanks to the fire in the lounge and Graham had put on his favourite - and ancient - collection of Christmas tunes to which Ryan insisted he could do better on Spotify. Travelling with the Doctor all year, time had flown by and Christmas had come round quickly, so this year, Grace had insisted on a holiday celebration with the Fam.
“That’s alright, Love, though I’m not sure what you mean by us, it’s just you so far, God knows where the Doctor is.“ Grace chuckled taking a sip from her own mug.
“She’s late.“ Graham commented with a huff walking over from the adjoining kitchen where he had just checked on the turkey.
“How do you have a time machine and still manage to be late?“ Ryan wondered dropping into the armchair by the fire, holding out his hands to warm them after clearing the footpath of snow in front of their house.
“She probably forgot which Christmas it is. Bet she’s knocking our door down in 2022 right now.“ Yaz chuckled.
“Maybe she got distracted.“ Ryan shrugged.
“Wouldn’t be the first time.“ Grace chuckled.
“It’s snowing! White Christmas!“ The Doctor exclaimed with the pure joy of a small child seeing snow for the first time. The evening was approaching and darkness had fallen early as it did this time of year. The warm light of the streetlamp tinted everything orange and it was eerily quiet, the snow swallowing any sort of sound. “It’s it beautiful?“ She glanced back at River who had followed her out of the TARDIS and gave a small smile, her heart warming at her wife’s childlike excitement. The Doctor took a twirl and stuck her tongue out to catch snowflakes.
“You do realise how dirty the air is on Earth is in the twenty-first century, eating snow isn’t exactly…“ River started saying but stopped when her wife shot her a look.
“Alright, spoil sport.“ The Doctor pouted. She noticed River looking up and down the road somewhat awkwardly as she crossed her arms in front of her chest and pulled her leather jacket tighter around herself.
“I’m not sure this is such a good idea.“ River mumbled confirming the Doctor suspicion. She was feeling insecure about spending Christmas with her wife’s friends.
“It’s not like you to be nervous.“ The Doctor gave her a reassuring smile and took a step closer to her. She reached for her hand, forcing her out of her defensive posture, by pulling it close and to her lips. She placed a soft kiss on her knuckles and River couldn’t help but smile a little, despite her obvious discomfort. “They’re the kindest group of people, we’re going to have a lovely time.“
“I don’t doubt that, I just…“ River didn’t really know how to put her worries into words. Talking about her feelings wasn’t something she was particularly good at. “What do they even know about me?“
“Honestly? Absolutely nothing.“ The Doctor replied with an apologetic smile.
“Seriously?!“ River exclaimed. She couldn't believe her. That was even worse than she could possibly have imagined. She ran her hands through her wild curls. “Why not?!“
“It just… never came up. I don’t know. How do you say: Yeah by the way, I’m married. But technically, my wife is dead. She’s trapped in a super computer in a huge library. I might try and rescue her this Christmas, who knows, maybe I’ll bring her for Christmas dinner, maybe I won’t, depends on whether I succeed or not.“ The Doctor rambled, trying to brush over how scared she had been of failing, how much she had actually doubted her ability to do it, and how close a call it had been. She still couldn’t quite believe River was here with her, actually here, flesh and blood, alive and well, and oh so real. She hugged her hand to her chest, not wanting to let go of her ever again.
“Alright, point taken…“ River mumbled and stepped closer, leaning against her and resting her head on her shoulder. The Doctor mirrored her, leaning her head on her shoulder in turn, just standing still for a moment. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, enjoying the warmth of River’s body against her, as the snow fell silently around them.
“We should go in before we catch our death out here.“ The Doctor said softly after a while when the chill started reaching her bones thanks to her naked shins.
“Alright.“ River nodded straightening herself up, taking a deep breath. She shook her hair out, trying to rid herself of the snow flakes in it.
“I don’t think you’ve ever looked more beautiful.“ The Doctor breathed and reached out to touch her cheek, overcome by her emotions for a moment, marvelling at her natural beauty and effortless grace. She leaned forward and captured her lips in a soft kiss. River smiled into the kiss, it had been so long for both of them, there was a carefreeness to them now that neither of them had ever known. The Doctor had always dreaded River’s death. River had always dreaded the day when the Doctor would not recognise her. Now, they could finally imagine a future without the inevitable heartbreak that had both lived with for so long.
“Thank you for coming back for me.“ River whispered, almost like a sigh of relief, as she rested her forehead against hers.
“I love you, River.“ The Doctor replied softly. “I don’t think you know just how much… I never told you that enough… but I will from now on.“ She broke off when she chocked up. Her emotions were all over the place. Her brain still hadn’t quite caught up with the fact that River was back for good now.
“You sentimental idiot.“ River chuckled softly brushing her blonde hair back. “Is a woman’s body making you more emotional?“ She joked and wiped a tear from her wife’s cheek.
“Shut up.“ The Doctor huffed wiping her eyes in embarrassment.
“I love you, too.“ River smiled leaning in to kiss her again.
“There you are, Doc!“ A voice called from the door of the house they had parked in front of. “What are you doing out here, you’ll catch your death, you…“ Graham stopped when he realised the Doctor wasn’t alone.
“We better go.“ The Doctor chuckled trying her best to hide her embarrassment at being caught during an intimate moment. She took River’s hand in hers and pressed a quick and reassuring kiss to it.
“Too late to turn back now.“ River sighed but felt a lot better than she had a moment ago and allowed the Doctor to guide her along the path, holding her hand tightly.
“Come on in!“ Graham beamed at them both as he held the door open. He didn’t question the Doctor bringing company, he had seen enough to know that they were about to learn something very special about their friend who never revealed anything about herself. It was a big deal.
The Doctor gave River a reassuring smile as they made their way into the cozy home.
“Come on through, it’s nearly time for dinner.“ Graham showed them to the dining room where Grace was putting large bowls of food while Yaz and Ryan were laying out cutlery. “Look who I found loitering outside the house.“ Graham joked announcing their arrival. The others looked up and didn’t quite manage to hide their surprise when they realised the Doctor hadn’t come alone. None of them had seen the mystery woman before but they all immediately picked up on the fact that they were holding hands.
“Did you get sidetracked?“ Yaz raised her eyebrows in amusement.
“Uhm… yeah, you could say that…“ The Doctor retorted awkwardly, not sure how to best go about this. “I… uh… there is someone I would like you to meet.“
“You must be River.“ Grave smiled kindly at River and the Doctor’s face fell. How did she know who she was?
“She talks about you a lot.“ Ryan chuckled, amused at the Doctor’s dumbfounded expression. River was confused, hadn’t the Doctor said they knew nothing about her?
“What are you talking about, I never told you about her.“ The Doctor looked around the room utterly bewildered.
“True, you never told us about her but you talk about her all the time, you just don’t notice.“ Yaz smiled kindly.
“We never asked, we thought you’d just tell us when you were ready.“ Graham added as he walked over to his wife and looped his arm around her waist.
“We knew there had to be a reason why we hadn’t met her, why you never properly told us. We thought it might be something that’s hard for you to talk about so we never pushed… but you speak of her constantly.“ Grace explained.
“This is just like the time River and I…“ Yaz grinned, mimicking the Doctor’s voice.
“The last time I did this, River…“ Ryan joined in with great amusement.
“River always used to say…“ Graham added.
“I wish River was here to see this.“ Grace smiled. “You always speak of her and don’t even realise it.“
“I never realise I did that…“ The Doctor spoke softly.
River felt tears welling up in her eyes. Embarrassed she wiped her face, she didn’t look at her wife, she thought she might burst into tears of she did. Instead she just squeezed her hand more tightly.
“It is a great pleasure to finally meet you.“ Grace smiled at River, catching her attention. “Let me get you a drink, how about some eggnog?“
“That would be lovely, thank you.“ River managed a tearful smile, finding her voice at last.
“You don’t have to tell us what happened if you don’t want to.“ Yaz smiled at the Doctor who was struggling with composure herself.
“I just… couldn’t go another Christmas without her.“ The Doctor said at last looking over to her wife, her hearts full of joy, surrounded by the people that had come to be her family, and reunited with the woman she would love until the end of the universe itself.
